  1. When I prepped my GSXR mirrors and drilled the centre bolt/shaft to remove the mounting plate the 4 cup Belleville washers were located on the bottom side of the mount. The spring tension is then felt through the whole assembly holding the mirror shaft to the cowling mount.I also noticed the three detents on the base of the mirror arm and the corresponding detents in the mount. When the mirror shaft and mount are put together they lock into each other and the pressure from the Bellville washers holds the mirror arm in this position and thus stops it flopping forward or back when mounted on the bike.
  2. The original post is from NIK68 and I found his posts (31 & 72) in Post a pic of your VFR. You will need to contact him where he got the mounts from but from his member profile he is located in Greece.
  3. Gents, I was just looking through "Post a picture of Your VFR" and came across this picture from NIK68, post 31 and post 72, Does this picture help to explain where the Spring washer goes? Is this the type of spring washer you are talking about?
  4. So if that block of AL cost $40 and you got 5 blocks from it will 1 block allow for fabrication of two mirror mounts? If so the raw materials for the mounts is pretty cheap, $8 a pair or $16 if 1 block won't run to 2 mounts. Noting the amount of wastage of material from milling will the machinist take that into account for his costs as he can resell this back as scrap?
  5. wgregt, Once again outstanding work on seeing this through. I have my GSXR mirrors on the shelf in the garage ready to go. If you are keeping a record of what members are requesting I would like a set in AL and can pay via PayPal. Regards from Down Under
  6. Great news and well done for the perseverance on this. You can put me down for a set. I have fitted a pair of indicator mirrors already which I got off eBay. They are okay but the look of the GSXR mirrors is too good to pass. Excuse the pun!!! My wiring is all done for these so would be a quick install. Just took a live and earth feed off the front indicators. I also had to drill a small hole in the fairing which is hidden by the mounting bracket.
