  1. Nice job Magellan ! I just picked up this pipe off ebay for my next custome Home made exhaust for my 6th gen. border='0' alt='user posted image' /> parts 001.jpg
  2. A steel flat washer can be a shin, nothing special ! Using washers or shims with a hole in them requires you to remove the bolt to get them on. As mentioned by Beck here, you can just loosen the top nut and slide in the U shaped body shims availible from most auto parts stores. AS HS mentioned you could slide your fork tubes up in the trees 5mm instead.
  3. I think older post have pics deleated to save site space ??? This post is from 2002 !

That is the same BRP parking lot that I dropped my newly Silver VFR trying to get it on the center stand in the rain. That area can get socked in for hours or days !
  5. I don't know why I added mpg, I've never carred about it ever ! It's always been FPG (Fun Per Gal) and I don't really care how much it cost !
  6. Good stuff Magellan, would like to see longer term effects to driveability and mpg.
  7. Nice Job ! I had the same problem on a crashed 5th gen. VFR a few years ago, the front end impact popped/broke out this same lower bearing seat. I thought I was screwed, but I thought about it for a while and decided to have my local machine shop just build an insert. They over bored the frame with a step and made a sleeve insert that was pressed into the new larger hole that had a much stouter seat . Worked like a charm !
  8. This is a cool and quick Mod, but will also affect the Link ratio of the shock in some way. Can't throw it off to much though, but it will be working the shock a little different. This was one of the things mentioned by Phil at AfterShocks when using a CBR shock on a VFR, they run a different Link ratio resulting in slightly different valving ! I think it's partly the VFR's link Ratio that requires a much heavier spring than most, not just because of the pigish weight ! :goofy:
