Just need my hi-viz helmet now..
  2. So I emailed Dan at A&A Performance, and he tells me that the 6th gen is the same width as the 5th gen, but taller. Mounting one would require a little fabrication to the mounting hardware.

  5. Very nice. I have a steering stem powerlet port, with a powerlet-to-cig-ligher, and a cig-lighter-to-usb. It's a beast. But it works just fine while riding. With the addition of the voltmeter, I need to install an accessory fuse box. I've found the license plate light a nice hot trigger source (especially as the PO cut it to make his own undertail kit), but any tail/head/running lights work fine too.
  6. The center stand springs are a biotch. I think I used the end of a tie-down strap to slip it over, then cut the tie-down (just the end of the strap, unnecessary). But muscling it over should also work. As for the GSXR mirrors. Bleh. I've got those too, and I can't see a damn thing out of them, they vibrate so much. It's the adjustable mirrors within the housing. They don't adjust far enough to make it useful, and vibrate to no end at 30mph. But I like the indicator capability, so I'll probably pick up a pair of universal fixed signal mirrors off ebay.
  7. Yeah, I'm talking to Spinr now. He wasn't sure a 6 on 5 would work, suggested I post it up.
  8. They're on there. Just not in as good shape as I'd like. Some look moments from certain death. Always prefer to buy from a forum member over the ebays..
  9. RH radiators in good kit seem to be hard to come by. I'll probably give the 6th gen a shot. I'll post up the results for future reference.
  10. That looks like one excited motorcycle! Nice job!
  11. Are the radiators on a 5th gen and 6th gen VFR interchangeable? I understand they aren't the same part, and the sizing appears to be a little different, but it looks like all the mounts and hose attachments are in the same locations and orientations. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

    Radiator leak...
  13. So I came across these mirrors on ebay. While not the most streamlined of mirrors, they do look pretty functional. Foldable, adjustable base, integrated signals... Anyone try these out before? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-VFR-500-750-800-1000-Interseptor-Motorcycle-Mirrors-w-LED-Turn-Signals-/151022572036?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2329a59204&vxp=mtr
  14. Ha! Never saw a helmet like that before..
  15. Sadly (which would normally be fortunate), the gate is in fine condition. I have the Lobster mirror extenders installed on the bike. Narrowing the mirrors would be a simple modification of simply removing those extenders. But I do like the increased visibility they offer, so I'd like to avoid that if possible. (Of course, the amount of vibration the stupid Emgo mirrors suffer can negate that enhanced visibility when everything's a blurry mess. Best to just ride fast enough to keep everything behind you..)
  16. The F350 mirrors would seriously hinder lean angle, me thinks. But take out the mirrors and they'd probably make great saddlebags! I was able to finagle the bike out by leaning to and fro, and in by moving one mirror. Maybe I'll be lazy and not worry about it.. The FZ1 mirrors sound nice tho; need to check those out.
  17. Hmm.. I like the kickstand idea. May have to look into that..
  18. Ahem.. So I moved into a new apartment, and the landlord graciously offered me the backyard in which to park my bike. I will DEFINITELY be taking her up on that offer. Buuuut there's a slight problem. I have GSXR mirrors with Darth Bling mounts and Lobster extenders, and the mirrors are about 6" (give or take) too wide to fit through the rear gate. I can fold the mirrors in and get in just fine, but from my experience, changing the positioning of the mirrors tends to loosen them, and they vibrate out of position on the road. Is there some sort of way to install a quick release type functionality to the mirrors? Ideally they'd be locked into the riding position, but I can 'snap' them out of position to fold them in, then snap them back into the riding position; exactly how fold-in mirrors on a car work. Does anyone have any insight into a potential solution to my earth-shattering problem? Bike: 5th gen VFR Mirrors: Lobster extenders, Darth Bling GSXR mounts, Emgo GSXR mirrors. Thanks!
