The bulged hose does have a formed curve to it but the new hose did not have the bulge. Note these are both old hoses, new ones are not shown as I didn't take many pics during re-assembly and I'm not pulling the throttle bodies off again just to take a pic of the pretty new hoses. -

Short thermostat hose that was bulged. Note the absence of white fibre within the hose cross section near the lower edge but visible near the upper edge. This hose was badly bulged and felt very soft and pliable. It would be interesting to see while under pressure. -

Crankshaft position for checking cylinder 4 clearance, or for removing/re-installing front cams. Note marks on cams must face out. -

Rear intake cam after re-installation. Note that this cam is actually one tooth off and needs to be rotated counter-clockwise. -

Incredible gunge in the valley. It was a pain cleaning this as it seemed like it wasn't really soluble in solvent or water. -
