  1. Haha bud lite is like water. I ran out by the time I got the fairings off! Can't complain though, the gf bought it :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yes it will still turn lock to lock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I just installed a Brembo radial clutch master cylinder off of a 2009 Ducati 1100 monster. The ratio has been improved slightly with the Brembo have a 1mm smaller bore 15mm vs 16, for less effort and more feel, with a wider friction zone. I already had 100 pound Barnett clutch springs, so the lessened effort is a god send. As an added bonus, the previous owner had 6 position adjustable levers already installed, which can adjust the friction zone from at the bar to about 1.5 inches off of the bar. So all in all I would say that this is a great modification for those seeking less clutch effort and greater clutch lever feel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. i have grown to like them, almost depend on them over time, but being an engineering student, i am not fond of the unnecessary weight and complexity.
  5. mainly brake delink for sheding weight and seperate control of the front and the rear brakes, it is fully adjustable for compression, rebound and preload, also it has already been sprung correctly for the vfr. other things, the R1 brakes are phenominal and radial brakes and upside down forks just look tits. there is also the possibility of the R1 front wheel being lighter than the vfr wheel. hopefully.
  6. lol it seems like i might have possibly hit the jack pot on that front end. all new seals, springs, bearings etc all for the vfr fitment within the last year and 1000 or 2 miles. i am excited.
  7. I just pulled the trigger on a complete R1 front end conversion. Things are getting interesting.
  8. I had a 15/43 (1 down up front stock rear 520 conversion DID kit ) for the past year or two. I put about 30,000ish miles on it. The chain and front sprocket were okay, but the rear sprocket wore out. Any ways I loved that combo so much that I ordered another one and I picked up an additional 46 tooth aluminum rear for the drag strip. The 15/46 is an absurd combination. I ran a 10.9 at 126 last Saturday fighting wheelies through the first three gears. Power wheelies in second gear are now effortless, but highway commuting in vtec gets old really quick, so I usually swap the 43 tooth rear back in within a week or two after drag racing.
  9. i have had the bike at about 35/40 for the past few days. feels really good. flicks over side to side much easier. also feels more stable while leaned over. not too sure on max grip, but feels good so far.
  10. i just put it to about 35/40... ill get back to you guys on how it feels. i am assuming that its going to be easier to lock up the tires under hard braking, and spin the rear under hard acceleration. i am also assuming that handling and cornering will be more stable though. we shall see.
  11. so it sounds like the general consensus is that everything is fine and that the rear tire is supposed to run out of lean well before the front. thanks guys.
  12. Yeah I didn't really understand what he was getting at, but he swears by it. I don't want a shortened wheel base and the only way that I'd want to raise or lower it would be with an adjustable ride height shock.
  13. Thanks guys. Lot of good info here. What my friend was saying is to set the hub in a way that maximizes ride height and minimizes wheelbase. I want nothing to do with this. I feel as though even if it were possible, it would make first and second gear unusable. And I feel like the bike would bite me in the ass if I wasn't careful.
  14. yeah im gonna try that out. my asshole racer friend wont shut up about shortening the wheel base up. he says that the rear hub can be adjusted to shorten the wheel base and raise the rear end up. i personally love the way my bike handles and feels, i just want a few more degrees of lean out of the rear tire. i dont want to ruin the handling, with a shortened wheelbase, i feel that the bike would be twitchy and unstable. I love how stable my bike is. i push it hard and it never bites back.
  15. Oh and there is a Michelin road three out back and a Bridgestone bt23 up front
  16. So I am no Rossi, but I do ride at a pretty good pace through the turns. I feel that I push pretty hard while still being with in reason. Anyways, going over my bike the other day and I am looking at my tires. My rear shows that I have used it all the way to the last mm of the edge to the sidewall. But looking at the front shows that I have plenty left, more like a centimeter left. So to cut to the chase, I am wondering if I need to adjust something. I have the rear at the standard height and the front lowered about a half of an inch. I wonder if maybe I should raise the rear some or increase the tire pressure in the rear etc... I had both the front and rear at 32 psi last time I checked. One thing that I have noticed after dropping a lot of weight off of the bike is the rear feels pretty harsh. I weigh only about 165 fully geared and I have pulled a lot of weight off of the bike. I know a lot of people say that the bike is under sprung from the factory, but I feel at this point that my front spring rate is about right and my rear spring rate might be a little high. My front preload is one line out from full stiff and has fresh honda pro oils in it per you guys advice. My rear is at full soft and I am not really sure about the rebound, I cant seem to find a good spot. I think I may just need a new shock, as I am sure that they get cooked with there location to the rear exhaust primaries... My bike is a 2007 with 46,000 miles. Hoping to hear back.
  17. Haha wheelie control would be a plus. I have to completely relearn how to ride this bike. I feel like the engine fas grown a few hundred cc's and my balls have shrunk a few sizes. The bike can be scarey and over whelming at times. Its a blast around town, But on the highway I find myself wondering where my sixth gear went lol.
  18. Should we start bets on the life expectancy of the alloy rear? I am thinking 2000 miles. lol
  19. Still waiting on the Titanium/Molly sprocket kit from Sidewindersprockets.com but the alloy rear just came in. So now I am currently running one down, 3 up. It is overwhelming. I feel like I could slap a chain to the subframe and pull a house off of the foundation.
  20. What color are we thinking on the ceramic? I am thinking that aluminum/silver color. Oh, then you should probably have them bead blasted at the very least before ceramic coating. Then you'll have a nice fresh surface for the coating to adhere to. definitely
  21. I am doing it mainly as a thermal block. I have wrapped headers before and I don't want to go down that road again. Its like one of those times when people are always posting up pictures of their ugly babys all over face book. Shes a diamond in the rough lol
  22. This header is so light, it makes titanium seem way over rated. And the spring loaded slip fits seem like a major plus. I can't get over that muffler though. It is ridiculous. Oh and the Y-pipes.... a work of art.
