Forum CEO HispanicSlammer 889 Posted March 30, 2005 I cant count how many times I have been told at various biker hangouts to "Get a real bike" - I just reply "cruisers arent my thing man". Its usually just a friendly jibe so no harm done but I think this is just a comment on what we have all heard at one time or another. He did not say which one was the real bike either? Guest Posted March 30, 2005 That first Harley looks like it must weigh 900 pounds! I am sure it does! Most of the guys I know that make the "get a real bike" comment are just kidding, all in good fun. Just like Goldwing riders comment about HD riders, HD riders comment about GW riders. IMHO if you ride, your  BTW: with me on my Road King I am pushing scale near the the 1K mark. Quote Link to comment
Member Contributer sailcycle 0 Posted March 31, 2005 The photograph does not accurately reflect the moment. You see, this is really one of those slow silver VFRs. But in it's current company, it blushed. Quote Link to comment
Member Contributer texasmofo 0 Posted March 31, 2005 I meant the picture caption as a joke. Apparently, I shouldn't give up my day job to hit the comedy club circuit. If anyone took offense, I apologize. I agree with hotredjohn, if you ride your cool. The guy I rode to Big Bend with was on the Fat Boy in the foreground of the picture. 900 lbs is a good estimate on the weight with him on it. Quote Link to comment
Member Contributer Lobster 14 Posted March 31, 2005 All those undersexed overpaid Harley riders really piss me off. None of them wave to sport bike riders, and they all think they're better than we are. I can't tell you how many times I've heard them say "it's the ONLY bike". I can't seem to figure out why they think they're so daing special for spending twice the money for half the bike....oh, yeah....make it three times the money once you add in all the $500 Harley jackets and stupid chrome pieces that only weigh the daing thing down even more. The VFR is clearly a better choice! Larry B) Quote Link to comment
