Member Contributer ki-speed 11 Posted August 24, 2007 If those would have been Red VFR's the police would never of caught them. Quote Link to comment
Member Contributer ASU-VFR 0 Posted August 24, 2007 i got busted doing 61 in a 45 on 89a in AZ. the only reason it was 61 was i let my buddy take the lead and i saw his brake lights :goofy: he got pegged at 93 in a 45 which is a $660 ticket. the ticket was $255 or driving school for $135, i went with the driving school Quote Link to comment
Tightwad 45 Posted August 24, 2007 I remember counting it up when I was about 20....I had been pulled over 12 times, been given 13 citations, and no warnings ever. I had a clean driving record(traffic school and the court system were my friends) Since then I have been pulled over maybe 8 times, been given 2 citations. Never on my VFR, only twice on any motorcycle. Somehow my Camaro with open pipes got all the love. Quote Link to comment
Member Contributer Bent 353 Posted July 23, 2008 I've had more tickets than I can probably remember easily. Ticketed for some really bogus thing, like "changed lanes without signaling" and "warrened" on speed. Learn to spell Ocifer. Ticket for driving with rear window obstructed (fogged up). Cop said he was behind me with lights and sirens for a long way, I was just cruising with friends and had tunes cranked. Double  Then again have been pulled over and thought I was toast, knew I was wrong, and got let go. B) MC cop pulled up next to me in my lane on the Fwy once as I was doing 80. I reflexively braked, and he kept going. Whew. Last few years tickets have been at least 18 months apart, so I have been able to do traffic school, and keep a clean record. Speed in the National Parks. Tickets you get there, stay there. Even if the park is in your home state. NP tickets don't stay there! There is a Central Violations Bureau in San Antonio where all citations are sent to be forwarded to your home state. Ask me how I know. That said, I have a "friend" that can get me out of Federal tickets, and did, which isn't easy to do. Quote Link to comment
Guest dendron Posted July 23, 2008 Rollin' down the Blue Ridge about 12 years ago with a few guys ahead of me I was doing about 80 around a sweeping curve on my ST1100, after getting behind the crew, when a Federallie pulled out and went after my compadries. He stopped us all and when he got to me he said, "I didn't clock you because I was turning to get the others". (they got nailed for doing 55). Then he said, "I have one of those ST1100's and I know I can do 80 in most places on this road. Now I gotcha ossifer. I asked with a knowing grin, "how do you know that, you must have done it". Then I said, "I can't do 80 on this road and I don't like going above the limit so I would like to suggest something. Let these guys off with a warning and I will take the lead for the rest of the ride and hold 45. Call ahead and if you clock us over 45, have a field day". He went for it and we got off at the next exit because trying to hold 45 on that road burns out your brakes. Strong, IntAceptor, very strong! Quote Link to comment
Guest fisch545 Posted July 24, 2008 i keep seeing them turn those blue light on but haven't ever pulled over for them on the bike, just down shift and wrap the throttle around  i have 10-20 verbal warning in the car but being a firefighter will get you out of almost any ticket  Quote Link to comment
