Guest Aardvark892 Posted September 8, 2006 I think this may be a fraud. I found a larger version of this picture on topspeed.com, and the stripes look like they've been painted on with paintshop, and not very well. Take a look and tell me if you think this is authentic. I may be wrong... just downloaded the very very large version of this picture, and looked at it very closely... I think the jagged edges were because of the conversion to a smaller size picture... the XL version is very smooth, and I think (I really really hope) this may be the real thing! Way to go Honda! Guest rhfosu Posted September 8, 2006 2007 is supposed to be a "big" year for honda...the year they catch up with everyone else. I love the retro look (my first bike was an '84 vfr500)...but new paint hardly makes the VFR a Triumph Sprint beater. Like alot of other people, I have dreams of a >100cc V5 and new styling....if I have to wait another year, i'll be disappointed...but not suprised. <_< Quote Link to comment

Guest black06vfr Posted September 8, 2006 I would like to see that. I didn't think that Honda would come up with a new generation for the VFR until 08. If you look at the pattern of how they do things is it usually in about 6 year cycles unless a drastic change is required. Just look at the Civic and the Accord. A 2001 Civic started the body style. It went unchanged until 04 where it got new headlights and taillights with clear turn signals for the front. Then in 06 it's a brand new car. Same with the cycle for the accord, but different years. My bet is they will update it in 07, but that new paint scheme if it is for real would look nice. Don't get me wrong I like my black 06, but next to the paint scheme on my buddy's RC51, or GSSXR-600, or even the R6, it looks very bland. I think that honda might be on to something with the retro paint scheme. Quote Link to comment
Guest black06vfr Posted September 8, 2006 I just noticed that even though it seems like it might be fake, look at the fact that it has clear turn signals with black rims. Black rims were not offered on the 06, could this mean it might be real? Quote Link to comment

Black rims were not offered on the 06, could this mean it might be real? i'm pretty sure this is the real deal. it seems a likely move. note that the gen 5 vfr was only around 4 years, and it was described as a "street bike named desire" in 98...universally winning every class shoot out. nobody has gushed about the gen 6's (many mags have long debated whether it was any sort of improvement at all) and this is year 6...6! don't get me wrong...it is a fine bike...but it is getting older every year, and the only improvement mighty H sees fit to hand us is a retro paint scheme? suzuki even beat them to that years ago. at the rate the competition is pumping out new and better machines in all classes, honda should want to get on the ball...it's in their best interest. i'm just disappointed. even if i couldn't afford one, i want to see honda selling a new class leading vfr. i had high hopes for this year after months (years?) of hype in this and many other message boards. give us a new bike honda....paint it red white and blue if you must. i'll put a deposit on it today. Guest VFRBee Posted September 8, 2006 Wouldn't suprise me if it is real. It would be consistent with a blue and white color scheme on the 2007 CBR600RR that was announced today. That bike has completely blacked out engine, wheels, swingarm, forks, etc. for a look go to www.motorcycledaily.com. Quote Link to comment

Guest chadwick Posted September 8, 2006 It's definitely for real. A picture of it is posted on the Honda USA site, along with another VFR in a new dark red color. Pretty cool... Quote Link to comment

Member Contributer Bent 353 Posted September 8, 2006 Looks pretty cool to me. Too bad they prolly won't offer the fastest color anymore. That color, BTW, is whatever color you own. Now that's diplomacy........ :P Quote Link to comment
