Member Contributer Skids Posted January 2, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted January 2, 2018 Got around to fitting a Cobrra Nemo 2 chain oiler this morning to my 2015 VFR800X Crossrunner. I've just put a new chain & sprockets on her so fitting the chain oiler at the same time seemed a good idea. It's a manual system, with an oil reservoir mounted on the bars and a pipe leading to a dispenser over the drive chain. At regular intervals (they suggest every time you fill up the bike), once you pull away from the fuel stop, turn the reservoir cap 90 degrees and that pressurises the oil to dispense a small amount over the next 3 minutes (hence the need to be moving after the fuel stop). The website is very handy with videos showing priming & refilling, but you'll have to excuse the odd grammatical error due to them being a Slovakian company. The OP on the Crossrunner forum has some helpful words and photos too which helped me with the routing of the oil pipe.

Had a Scottoiler for years but fell out of love with it. This is much simpler, but time will tell.
Member Contributer Nelix Posted January 3, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted January 3, 2018 Certainly a lot simpler, had it been £50 I would buy one, but £100 for a bit of tubing, oil and a reservoir is taking the piss.
