Member Contributer slowbird Posted May 6, 2017 Member Contributer Posted May 6, 2017 I currently have a FZ257 top case mount and was wondering if it is compatible with the older discontinued PL161 Side racks. My searching shows me a lot of comments that you can run the PL161 side racks without a topcase rack (Unlike the current version) but no mention if you can run the top rack with it. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please? Quote
OntarioHawk Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Im going to say probably not. I think the arms of the FZ rack would block the access to the passenger handle mounts required for the 161 side racks. The current version, model PL257, side racks that match up with the FZ have one mounting point on the FZ rack. You'll see the rubber plug on the arms of the FZ rack. PL257 are available at Fortnine and Twisted Throttle.ca for about $160, although both show out of stock at the moment. Mecamoto in Montreal has them too. I've bought there before and they seem fine.
