AWP34
Hi VFR's, I have a 2008 Non ABS VFR. When I apply the rear brake I am getting squeaking as well as a rattle in the back. I am running 1yr old Galfer Wave rotors with EBC brake pads, Galfer SS brake lines. New brake oil and has been bled when all this was installed. The bike does not see too much road time as I am a weekend warrior. This was not an issue until recently. Took it to my mechanic today who said "he had no clue." He thinks the rotor needs to be cleaned. Basically passed the buck back to me. Anyways if anyone has suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help in advance. Member Contributer Grum Posted July 25, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted July 25, 2016 Two thoughts come to mind. How loose is your drive chain, potentially causing your rattle as you brake? And could there be any hydraulic fluid that has gotten onto the brake pads causing the squeal? Assume calliper bolts etc. are tight. The pad compound is also important. AWP34
Thanks for the reply Grum. Turns out all it needed was to be cleaned the rotor wheel as well as the bike. So I'm good to go.
