Member Contributer BuZZ Posted September 9, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted September 9, 2015 I was cleaning my bike this afternoon, and I noticed that the front axle is not "symmetrical". There is a big bolt at the end on the right hand side, bot nothing on the left. Should I be worried? Thanks for your help!
Member Contributer mk2davis Posted September 9, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted September 9, 2015 You are fine. The side that is round has a shoulder, and the axle only tightens from one side.

Member Contributer The mailman Posted September 9, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted September 9, 2015 When you remove that big nut from the right, you can stick a screwdriver or similar through those little holes on the left side and pull the axle out easier. - and don't let your calipers hang by the hoses when you pull those off. Always reattach them to the fork with at least one of their bolts. Changing your brakes and tires on a VFR is one of the easiest maintenance jobs you can do.
