Harhond60
Having road rash repaired and painted on my 04 vfr consisting of two side bags and left front edge of cowling. Bags obv no prob, but I would like to know the smart & experienced way to get the cowling off. I'm tempted to take my allen wrench and figure it out as I go but that typically doesn't end up well for me. Any help greatly appreciated.
Member Contributer ggathagan Posted June 19, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted June 19, 2015 If you don't already have the service manual, you can download it here in the downloads section:http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/files/file/220-02-09-honda-vfr-service-manual-optimized-bookmarked/ Section 2-12 deals with removing the upper cowl (page 61). Member Contributer Cogswell Posted June 19, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted June 19, 2015 This video gives step by step instructions. A helper is useful when you disconnect the temp sensor wire - otherwise put something over the front fender to cushion it as you'll need to pull the cowl forward slightly and will need both hands to get the connector apart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otZQid8qLIs
