Clutch Cover No Go Back On

Recommended Posts

New sprockets/chain, now clutch cover won't go back on - seems clutch push rod sticks out too far ...

And yeah I pressed clutch lever with cover off, which made the gap worse of course ....

Are you supposed to just tighten everything down with the cover bolts ? ? ?

Or what ?

Advice needed.

I ' m supposed meet friends for ride in two hours. Great.

Not unusual for the clutch slave piston to extend out a bit when its off the bike. You should be able to line the parts up and push it gently back onto the pushrod, then snug up the bolts. Same sort of thing as pushing brake pistons back into the calliper when you change pads.

Thanks ! I think I got it back on correctly.
