As the title says, no speedo or odometer read-out. Checked the plastic piece--looks perfect. The needle just lifts up to about 5mph, then drops to 0, and stays there.

I think I had to tap into the pink wire when installing the PCV, but i wouldn't have cut it. And i would have noticed the speedo being dead when i last rode this bike 18mos ago, which was after I had installed the PCV (which is not connected at the moment anyway--I am using a PCIII).

Sensor can be tested, I think. But it's most likely a wiring issue--this time!

Thanks to a tip from Jim (SA1713), I now have a working speedometer! Apparently, connecting even an otherwise disconnected PCV to the VFR's pink speedometer sensor wire results in a dead speedo/odo. As soon as I pulled the pink wire from the PCV, my speedometer began functioning again. Then I thought that maybe that was the reason the PCV wouldn't work, but a short ride revealed that the PCV still caused engine stumbling even with the pink wire disconnected.

Teething problems! (Which, unfortunately continue in other areas...)
