Member Contributer tomk1960 Posted August 13, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted August 13, 2014 The alt cover on my '83 VF750F had some light corrosion starting and the clearcoat was shot, so I stripped and polished it. Now I plan to powder coat it clear and then lay low gloss black down in the HONDA letters. If I'm not mistaken, Honda used a semi-gloss clear rather than high gloss. Can anyone with a really nice, unrestored cover confirm that? Mine seemed to be a satin/semi gloss clear, but after 30 years, it could have dulled some. I'd like to have it look original, since the rest of the bike is virtually untouched. Thanks!
