Electrical Problem. This Time I Got Smoked~~!

Recommended Posts

I started a topic a wee bit earlier this month about my electrical problem. After replacing the busted main fuse, I replaced it and attached the terminals, starting with the posotive. once i touched the Negative to the battery my R/R started smoking! I immediatly took it off. After checking the new fuse i realized i just replicated what happend the original time and the main stater fuse is blown again.

What to do next? My guess is to replace the R/R

Thanks guys

sounds like a direct short.... there has to be a short. how old is the battery? I have had batteries do that before, I would not think R/R but if its smoked get a new one. I just ordered a replacement for mine. http://myworld.ebay.com/caltric/&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754 $39.00 shipped, I bought 2, one for a spare (at that price it is good for peace of mind) I had replaced the original one 07 2007 at 45,053 miles this one lasted until 93,528>
