SEBSPEED
Has anyone come across a high temp paint that matches the sand/magnesium color on the 86 clutch/stator/valve covers? My powdercoat connection is no more... Otherwise I was thinking I'd use PJ1 case paint meant for Honda dirtbikes; it's similar, but more like gold than sand/magnesium. If there's another manufacturer that has a similar color on their cases, let me know. Maybe PJ1 makes paint for them? ... TIA!

Member Contributer crepitus Posted October 22, 2008 Member Contributer Share Posted October 22, 2008 I used Golden Bronze Wrinkle powder from Prismatic Powders in Oregon based on a suggestion by Markmxr. http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.p...c=37380&hl= In low light it is much darker than the original but when light hits it the gold shines and it's closer. I'm eventually going to do the other valve cover and side covers and sand the lettering off like Markmxr did.
