Exhaust Cans - Looking On The Cheap

Does anyone know a source where I can pick up a set of exhaust cans at a discount price?

I am looking to do a custom (slip-on) exhaust on my 85 VF1000R. It curently is running the stock system with stock headers. I'm looking to replace just the cans with some fabricated connection pipes.

I'm pretty flexible on the materials and just want to give the bike a more modern look. This is all part on an ongoing restoration project. My goal is to keep the bike and just want it to look mint.

I'm up in New Hampshire.

On the Search by Product engine: skip the description and manufacturer tabs. Select sportbike and exhaust system from the remaining two tabs. Check out the targa hot tips from the search findings at $169.00 I ran one of these back in the 80's on a cbr600f1 and loved it.

EBAY.

Search for slip-on exhausts for bikes that originally came with two cans, like the CBR1100XX or the Hayabusa, etc.

You might find a lightly used set or a set of NOS mufflers for cheap.

Mostly, they have 2 inch inlets, FYI.

Muzzys have some NEW mufflers on closeout for $99 each, email them and see if they have both left and right hand ones for the CBR-XX (scroll to the bottom):

And don't mind the part where they say that the mufflers will ONLY fit Muzzys exhaust systems. You can make them fit anything with a little McGyvering.
