Guest FLYONWALL9
Not sure if this is in the correct place I'm sure it will be moved if not. So, I've had a Kreem liner in my tank for about 3 years. It was starting to degrade and sag and bunch in places. I would like to remove it and just treat the rust rather than cover it up. WHATS THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE THIS STUFF? So far I have tried MEK which seems to semi work but its taking FOREVER
Member Contributer Hoover Posted April 10, 2008 Member Contributer Share Posted April 10, 2008 I think that POR15 makes something called marine clean that may remove it. I'm pretty sure in the kit I got to coat my tank for my xs, it said it would remove any old coatings that were used before.
Member Contributer COS_VFR Posted April 12, 2008 Member Contributer Share Posted April 12, 2008 I Kreemed the tank on my old Yamaha and it failed. I replaced it with POR15 and it has not failed in over 8 years. At the time, POR15 had a kit just for fixing Kreemed tanks. I checked their website, www.por15.com, but could not find the kit I bought. I think the Marine Clean is just a degreaser, but I am not sure. I suggest that you email them and ask which product strips Kreem out of the tank. The only problem I had removing the old Kreem lining was the top inside of the tank was hard to get to.
