GIVI PLX166 (V35) Side Rack on a 5th Gen?

Hello all!

 

I am in search of a luggage system for my 5th Gen. I understand the PLX166 rack that houses the V35's are for a 6th Gen (PL257 for G5), but anyone out there have any luck "tweaking" the PLX166 rack to fit a Gen 5? I believe it is possible and has been done before in the past but can not seem to find any pictures or a write-up as to how. Just looking to see if this modification is feasible at all?

Thank you all for your inputs and contributing to the conversation. Fun fact, I recently found and purchased a GIVI Wingrack II with a monokey top plate and side rack hardware for a Gen 5 with 2 GIVI E41 hard cases at a excellent deal. Meaning...I will not be going with the original setup I reached out for in this conversation 😂. However, vfrcapn was able to answer the question of possibility which is awesome and much appreciated. I'm sure others will definitely go this route knowing it is feasible now. So thank you for that.
