The Meritt Resevour area is famous for it's dark night-time sky. I was there during a new moon. Starlight was so bright, the Milky Way cast a shadow on the ground. Astronomers from around the world had a sky party during the new moon in July. Happens every year during July or August new moons.- 2 comments

I added some coolant to the machine. Thanks Sparrow75 for the jug of coolant. And thanks to the original owner of the jug for passing it on. I left the remaining half full jug at the c-store / outfitting store in the middle of nowhere near the campground. While I was inside chatting with the propriator, some SOB stole my sleeping pads off my pillion seat.- 2 comments

Narrow road. Very disconserting approching blind hill top. If opposing traffic meet, someone must move half off the road. The verge did not look motorcycle friendly. -

Beyond the shade. Hwy 97 runs 75 miles from Valentine, Neb in the north to Mullen in the south. I've heard rumors this is a TDS road. Fabulous tarmac, great sight lines, little traffic. -
