I remember back in the '80's one winter in Colorado...the top of Rabbit Ears Pass looked exactly like that. But it was 'only' 12 feet of snow...in the middle of what was normally an open meadow. It was late January, outside of the old mining town of Oatman, AZ (west central AZ). Temps were not as high as I expected them to be on this trip--ranged from a low of 33 F in the mountains to 67 F in the middle of the day in the 'desert' areas. I was very glad to have brought the Gerbings electric jacket and electric gloves. When this pic was taken the temp was about 55 F.
