  1. There are only two blues for the VTEC... one is much lighter than the other... the darker one is more purplish... I have this latter one (or did until I painted it ala RC30)... and it was officially described as Lapis Blue Metallic... PB-257M... PB-332P is Pearl Heron Blue and is a lighter tone

Hombre... I didn't say anything really offensive... but it really looks to me in the photo (and I guess I must be mistaken) that he just grabbed a spraycan in a fit of inspiration... maybe it's the angle of the photo or the reflections... didn't mean to offend.

  2. Okay so what's the full story here Auspanol? Have I missed this in the threads? Bike looks great BTW!!

No dude... no threads covering this... haven't posted here for yonks... a mate of mine fixed up the fairings and painted her for me while I was over in Oz... now that's what I call friendship!!

  3. looks good...but didn't you have a 5th gen? I thought I sent you Y2K mirrors and some extenders a few years ago???

    cool paint job regardless...

    Lobster

He had a 6th gen also that he layed down some years back, not sure if this is the end result but whatever the case...lookin :fing02: g good

Yeah that's right Lobster, I had a 5th and a 6th gen!! In a rush of haste I sold the 5th gen for a song... regret that big time, much prefer the 5th gen motor, but love the 6th gen cycle and aesthetics... Aussiein USA is also right, I had an argument with a guardrail some years back and rebult the 6th to original condition, colours and all. Since then several minor scrapes started to add up to a rather shabby appearance. Late last year I came off again at the track and rashed and cracked up the plastics rather nastily. Then the electrical woes came back and I was ready to say goodbye. I very good friend and track buddy of mine took pity and fixed her up and painted her for me in our informal Cubata Team Racing Club's colours (based on the RC30)... there is a 2005 CBR1000, CBR954 and a CBR929 also painted in this scheme and we hit the track whenever we can...

  4. Nice paint. Like the white horns on the end.

How about some white wheels to go along with it all?

    Thanks!!

White wheels are in the oven.. I have several sets of rims so I just handed a set over to be done whenever my mate gets time... I may leave the black ones on for day to day use and slide on the white socks for meets and trips and such...

  5. HS that is a real shame to see... I hope the few comments I've managed to see here stating you'll be OK are correct and that you've come out of whatever happened on top and unscathed!! Looks just like my crash of 2 years ago. Chin up!!

  6. It seems you uploaded this in 2006... I didn't know... obviously it all ended relatively well.

If anyone is ever ordering a clutch cover/casing, just a heads up in that the timing cover comes under a separate part no... although you can usually swap the original one over.. it's not as likely to suffer damage.

    Ask me how I know... :fing02: :fing02:
