Clip any zip ties on the long hose going to the rear on the pump .. typically it has one or two clipped to the harness....
Also next step is to get the frickn connector loose from the pump to the harness. On the 5th gen, its on the left front side...
Its a royal sumbitch to get apart!!

You will need to plug up the port.....

Pull the hose loose from the front air cleaner box port...

There is a pump hanger mounted to left front of airbox, unscrew that... I had the aircleaner out.. .dont drop the screw into the venturis!

Now work on pulling out the Pair Valve pump....

Assembling the covers .....--- Clean the covers good before installing. Alcohol, brake cleaner etc... ------Torque 9 ft-lbs

Now your gonna need new pair valve covers...... Hey mello dude, where did you get the cool pair valve covers?

Stick these back in the seats....

Reassemble the gaskets and plates.... Clean! Clean!

Another while I'm at it, grabbed a Qtip and sprayed the brake cleaner on it and swabbed the hooey out the "seats" really good... Clean! Clean!

A while I am at it, I cleaned up the reed valve base plates and gaskets.... --- Clean! Clean!

Mine came apart easy.... You will be only using the base plates and gaskets... shit can the reed valves and screws....

Next, one by one, clamp them in a vise and hit with a shot of "Blaster" and break the reed loose. Use a JIS screw driver!!!

After you got it open, grab a flat blade screw driver and pry the reed valve assemblys out....

First after pulling the OEM covers off and sniping the hoses... you get.... >> on the 5th gen, you need to unbolt the Oil cooler nuts and let it hang down...

So I thought it would be a no brainer to remove the pair valve system...

S100 polishing soap plus elbow grease does a fairly good job on that stuff.

Tape up the connector and next you can pull that sucker outta there....
