  1. Here is a better look at them. 40mm is distance from center hole to center hole.

The thread for mounting mirror arm is 8mm.

I'm thinking these may work, but I don't know if 8mm is common for the Suzuki mirror posts. Anyone know?

  2. From Thurn, mere seconds ago:

    ME:

    "Hello-
The guys on my bike forum (www.vfrdiscussion.com) tell me that at one time they spoke to you about selling ONLY the base from your aftermarket signal mirrors to people who needed only the base (not the entire mirror), if enough people wanted it. Did you ever sell JUST the base? I can't seem to find any mention of you actually doing it. If not, I'd like to buy just the base x 2, or if you do not make this yourself, perhaps you can give me the contact info for whoever makes them for you to sell. Thanks for your help."

THURN:"We sell the mirrors only completely. it is not possible to give informations about companies, which built spare parts for us or about other suppliers."

So, strike one. Or seventy-two, whatever the count happens to be at this point.

  3. Could I at least get one/several good fotos from all angles of this thing that I have never even seen? Anyone have dimensions or a working drawing from Mr. Bling, or done one themselves then? As of right now, I still have not laid eyes on this thing to determine next steps.

Not knowing how it was resolved with Thurn, I wrote them today as well.

  4. Anyone (joe foe?) have an update on the adapter base and/or extender? Thurn? Señor Bling? Busy Little Shop? I've started the search for signal mirrors for my 07 VTEC as well now, and need to know if I need to reinvent the wheel and start from scratch with the search or not.

  5. Just use the pigtail that comes with the BT. Route it up the tank/seat junction. No need to remove side panels.

I got a really short pigtail. It's only ~8" long, so it won't -quite- reach.

You got screwed then. The ones that come with it (from what I got with 5 of mine) are about 20" long, I'd guess.

  6. I like the Powerlet stuff, although it is pricy. I just put the bar mount BMW style on my CRF direct wired to the battery so I could backfeed with the Battery Tender.

I didn't even think of that angle. Hmmmm... my BT came with a Powerlet adapter. Would be nice to just be able to plug it in, rather than pull a side panel.

Yes, I can be lazy.

  7. Hey guys-

I recently got one of these solo racks from Ken. Also bought the OEM rack. Trying to figure out how to use/mount Ken's solo rack. Ken told me how to mount the rack to the bike. I need some advice on mounting the Honda OEM "pad" to the rack.

From Ken on mounting the rack to the bike. This sounds easy.

"Grab handles on bike then remove the grab handle bolts set rack on handles - use the spacers under the rack if you don't want the rack touching the grab handles an install the bolts I sent. It's a bit awkward but it's not tough."

What I have questions about is how to connect the Honda plastic "pad" that was on the OEM rack (I separated the pad from the tubular portion of the OEM rack) to Ken's rack. Right now I just took off the 4 bolts and nuts that run THRU the OEM tubular portion, and I see that they line up nicely with Ken's rack, but it seems the bolts are too long and only have thread on half the bolt, so it doesn't really get tight.

Did you reuse the Honda bolts, or do I need to go buy new ones?

Also, the Honda plastic pad is tapered on one end a bit. Right now I have that end pointing to the back of the bike when mounted....is this correct?

  8. You know, the VFR 800 RWB I just bought a couple months ago has a USB port on it. I have never used it or looked at it to see how it's hooked up. Never had a need for it, I guess. Now you guys have me wondering...I think it's the same brand as the one you installed here. Hmmm....

It also has a Powerlet on it. Never used that either.
