I put the tire on already, I can weight both and start a new thread. With the Aussie convert kit it's just mechanical bolt on of bits, nothing too technical. This is a 6" Duc wheel, so a 190 tire.
Contact Sebspeed here on the forum for the clear clutch cover.

Don't know how I missed this site all these years, but he's got a bunch of great articles on maintenance and lots of gorgeous restorations he's done. Great V4 resource especially for the older bikes.

That's exactly what I found with my 6th gen and the 8th gen rads.
What do you think of a side mounted oil cooler? Could there be enough air flow? Or maybe a thermo controlled fan behind it?

Gents I am just about to make a decision on a new vfr, i had one in the late 90,s and loved the build quality. so after numerous other bikes Blackbird,Cbr,Harley,Gs,s i have decided i want an all weather bike as i am fed up polishing and not riding the bike so to speak. Clearly you guys do a lot of miles is my choice the right choice as i thought abou the kawasaki s1000sx but the v4 sound wins as i can still remember enjoying the sound over the blackbird, blade and cbr. your views are welcome this bike will be used in the rain and shine most of the year round what do you guys and girls reckon.
budgie
This is a good read. Check out the mileage on his 1990 VFR.
I've done 120k miles on my '99 in all weather, I'd trust the 8th gen to do the same.

Do you have a build thread on this? It would be amazing to delete the dual radiator set up.
No, I'll post up once I work things out, haven't had much time lately. It looks pretty straightforward though.

I guess but that was 90 min of my life I'll never get back>
I had never read this end-to-end but you inspired me, 3 or 4 hours later...was time well spent.
SF and Duc, I don't think I realized the effort and time you had put in to this, thank you. I can't imagine how many hours you and all the other bike donors and contributors have put in the last couple of years.
It's probably going to cost me more now that I'm considering a RB or PC with autotune, I currently have an older PC2.
I don't have much to add that hasn't been covered already. There was a note from SF about centerstand bolts mounting from the center of the bike out on the RH side. I had done just that, to remove the c-stand if needed without dropping the header.
I had a question on PC5 and the 5G patch but I see you've already got a whole thread addressing just that.
Thanks again guys!

I think VFRcapn is working through the 8th gen rads on a 5th gen engine using the 8th gen headers. I bought a set of 8th gen headers for a similar reason. The link pipe and undertail silencers will be all you... let us know how it goes!
I'll be running my underseat Wolf system with this header if all goes to plan.

Thanks. I was thinking of squeezing the 8th gens oil cooler in but I'm not sure there's going to be enough space, still need to place everything and figure out the hose and line routing.
Looks like the 8th gen rads and fan will just fit with the 8g header and 5g fairings, may need to keep the 5g oil cooler though.

As my bike is a Gen6 with Gen5 engine, my cooler is in the original position.
I didn't need to do anything with it apart from making up new lines and I used AeroQuip type fittings and braided hose.

I've got the 8th gen headers fitted to my 6th gen with the 5th gen engine.
There is heaps of clearance between the headers and the fairings.

Phil, How did you place an oil cooler? I can't find your old build thread.

Has it been confirmed that the splayed 8th gen tubes will clear 6th gen bodywork? My gut reaction is that they should , but it would be a major bummer to have them and find out otherwise.

It remains to be seen if Wade's pipes will leave enough clearance. I do have a plan A and B roughed out, just in case.
Have the new 8G pipes been test fitted to a 5G to confirm they'll fit under the stock body work?

Update - we picked up the current batch of 5/6 gen headers earlier this week.
One of these 8 gen headers has been optimized for a front radiator conversion on a 5th or 6th gen. This one set of 5/6/8 gen headers has 2 additional O2 sensor bungs in OEM 5/6 gen locations.

I may be in for a 5G set too...
So, SFDownhill hooked me up with a Wolf exhaust and my thinking was it wouldn't mate to my TBros header so I'd need a stock or equivalent header replacement. No oem fitting pipe I ever tried would work with the TBros header outlet that is angled to work only with their mid-pipe.
But, with just a little fiddling, the two-piece Wolf pipe allowed me to get everything turned and lined up with the TBros.
Long story short, I probably won't be in for one of the new headers but I'll keep an eye on developments in case a new 5G batch gets going.
Many thanks to SFDownhill for the Wolf, it is literally like new and sounds great.
