  1. Hmmm. Almost needs black rims..............................

Just sent JoeW a message (now that he's back in business!)

Thanks for the offer! I have a spare black front wheel that I am going to put up for sale very soon...

  2. "don't you have anything better to do?" - now that kwr8728 is at school, nobody else will trash their bike so I can work on it... so this will have to do

Hey Will, not for nothing, but I could keep you busy for a least a month... ever been to NY?? :goofy:

Bike looks good, but you should go full Monty and do the frame, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

  3. Now about that 6th gen belt drive conversion...

The belt drive conversion status is AWP... (A Waiting Part)... BMW needs to ante up the belt I ordered... I

may bring the whole mess down to Bubbas Laguna Seca so everyone can get a feel for the parts...

Nice! I hate chain lube!! :pissed:

  4. You know Larry, they make Dykem layout fluid in a spray too... would've saved you a day of brushing right there! :P

Just kidding, they look great!

  5. this is definitely the way to go, everything fits together just right but only if you leave all the fasteners loose until the very end. i made the mistake of tightening as a i went, doesn't work. you'll have to adjust things at the end before everything is in its place.
The key is to leave everything LOOSE until you have all the bolts started, then start tightening things down.

And not just the new parts, loosen the passenger peg mounting bolts too, you won't believe how much easier it gets!

  6. I just installed new bag racks last night, took me about an hour taking my time. The key is to leave everything LOOSE until you have all the bolts started, then start tightening things down. Start in the back(4 small), then the pass. peg mount bolts, then the bag rack bolts on the ends of the peg mounts, then the top 4 bolts.

  7. They look great!

Where did you source them and what kind of coil did you have to shell out??

I guess I should have mentioned that, $360 US plus shipping and handleing, from one of our best parts suppliers, who just lost his job, JoeW. Boy did his boss ever F-up!

Wow, for pads and rotors? Not bad at all!!

  8. I think the additional cost is brought about by the fact the rear hub has an adapter to fit a Duc wheel with a single nut eliminating the four nuts of the VFR. I will post up a picture after I get back from Spring Mtn. race tract this weekend. I have run out of time and will miss out on using them at the track..

I have been working with Mr. Wakamatsu for about a year now trying to get this off the grount.

He first made a die for the Duck, and rather than go to that expense again he decided on the wheel adapter out of chrome molly.

This is an amazingly good piece of news!!

  9. Those wheels are amazing. Did you get that from the Kawi site? I have a similar picture stored on my computer.

Nope, I snatched that pic right from the source, www.borderlinecustomcycle.com. look under the "projects" link. It's a 1992 ZX7 with MV Agusta body, R1 tail, Duc swingarm, ohlins, aluminum tank, and nitrous... :joystick:

  10. Find someone with a bandsaw, that'll work best. Then use a file or an angle grinder with a sanding disc to clean them up. Satin black Rustoleum blends perfectly with the subframe.

Beauty shot Gone is the sail... titanium fender eliminator is done!

  11. And after watching it, I'd say your buddy needs to work on his body positioning a little.

Looks good though! I really miss those decreasing radius turns, I don't have any in my area, and I love a challenge!

  12. I don't recall Hot Tip (could have been after I got axed), but they did make systems that were called "White Tip" (cool shark logo). These were systems that had the header Jet Hot silver ceramic coated.

    Rex,

My memory is often quite bad so I may just be remembering this wrong but I believe they were made by Kerker/supertrap and sold under the targa brand:

I had the white one on my, then new, white 87 Honda Hurricane CBR600F.

If someone put all three of those on an '07 RWB(a la CBX), they'd be my hero...

  13. Well, I read the whole post, and I think he's out loving life with his new shock right now!!

I just hope he doesn't get too happy and bottom that resevoir out on his chainguard... that could be bad... or just a bad angle on the camera? :goofy:
