  1. I've checked in here daily from joining in 05 to today. It filled the void left by the departure of motorcycle magazines. There has always been good reading here. Most of my closest friends were made at the rides posted on this site. This is a huge loss but keeping it going should not rest on one man. I hope that you enjoy your freedom Miguel and that you will always know what a wonderful impact you made in many many lives.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, much appreciated! My brother, 'Shotgunz' said I should change my name to "Chicane", due to the new scar, said it reminded him of chicane on a race track. What do you think?

Maybe Frank? 😜 (insert gif of Peter Boyle dancing) Sorry, I'm too lazy to go find and insert it.

Your dad sounds like my kind of guy. My child tells everybody that she had older siblings instead of parents. She turned out to be an awesome person.

  3. Install a volt meter asap. Check the connectors on the wiring from the R/R, Stator, and battery. Those are the trouble spots other than the stator itself. When the voltage starts to drop, you will know its time.

When you wrap the tank, add some carbon down the top so that you wrap in three sections. It will make it a lot easier and tie in with your seat cowl.

Cut a mesh gutter guard to cover that hole in the airbox. I used silver hvac tape to hold it on. It will keep the mice out.

Nice work BTW, its looking good!

  4. The bushing are not bad at 11k. If they were bad, you would feel it. $1200 is robbery! VFR fork seals are easy, I did my first this past year with a little help from the Tube.  JUST DO IT!

I just took my new Tiger 660 in for its first service thinking that it is an oil change and it will make them happy. An hour and a half later, I got a bill for $267.41. The labor rate is $135/hr. Oil was $17.80/qt.  Now that I can afford nice things, I can't afford to have them.

I want to add a hugger to my 2007 VFR800. If you ask me the carbon fibre huggers are just too expensive. I did find one from a company called NiceCycle. Has anyone purchased a hugger or any body panels from this company? If so, what is the quality like? Or do you have any recommendations for an alternative company that produces huggers? I'm never sure of the quality of items listed on eBay so I sorta steer clear of eBay. Thanks for any help you able to provide.

I hope that's a generic pic or I'd steer clear. It looks too short for VFR and no provision for the brake lines. I have a Harris CF hugger on my 07 and it has held up really well. It came with one of my bikes so I have no idea if you can even buy one any longer. You might ask Seb if he'd make two. I know he has been working on one for his sixth gen in the last couple of weeks.
