Shoot Standing it up almost always results in riding right off the road. Standing it up and hard on the brakes always makes the bike go strait. I wonder what would have happened if you just picked the cleanest line you could see and just leaned it over? You say it would have low sided but maybe you would have made it?

That looks like Mari2aPeterblt taking photos - I think you can give Doug a lot of credit for being able to ride at all after what I learned about his injuries dirt bike racing, remarkable he is riding at all - let alone on the edge like that. I for one would find it difficult to even sling a leg over the bike If I got hurt like that.
