  1. Today was the day it all payed off!! 😁🤭 this was it after all the messing around cuttig seized bolts from fairings by hand with just a saw blade then to oil and fuel parts, a new fuel pump, cleaned all but one spark plug because the bolt on the coil had seized into the head (a job for later) and checked for spark which seemed good and regular, cleaned up all the earths And plug connectors I could find a replaced a invisible battery and un seized a throttle body linkage all in a couple of evening and a day off ............ SHE STARTS whooooo wasn’t a waste of time she sounds quite good and thumpy for being sat for years, such a shame I blew a corroded oil cooler line after a few seconds so that’s the next job on the list 👍👍
  2. This is the first day I seen the bike out in the wilderness, sun was shining weather was sweet, she needs a bloody good degrease and a clean but priority’s we’re getting her serviced and running. I pulled the tank off pre ordered a battery and I’d allready got two oil filters and some oil for a change the day before at work so I cracked on in the blazing sunshine (well 14 degrees is pretty good for the south of England). Oil filter was an ancient rusted relic of a uni part filter (went bust 6 years back) and the oil was black as shoe polish with a brown rusty tinge to it, I later found out this is caused by the oil cooler pipes which decided to blow out upon starting for the first time, but at least the oil pressure was good ayy 😁 small wins and all that.
  3. Few meters of orange 🍊 3mm vac hose to replace the slightly perished throttle body lines this orange gave me an idea of a finished colour scheme but that will come later
  4. So the original pump I thought I had revived did not have enough get up and go left in it, it was ok pumping air out of the tank but wouldn’t prime fuel at all so a replacement 43psi kemso pump (higher pressure than standard I believe) was sourced from good old eBay, this arrived a few days later and was fitted with a little tinkering with the pickup arrangement and the wiring fitted perfectly to stock with no modification 🤪
  5. Fuel pump assembly out because it wasn’t priming when kill switch flicked on and off so I wired it up to a battery and surprise surprise was seized up, I gave it a hit with a ratchet and it fired into life, i rebuilt the tank pump unit changing a few fuel lines and checking the filter that was filthy, but not having one on hand and refusing to spend the £58 ish on a genuine one I sourced a Ford Focus filter for £5 that was ever so slightly larger and mounted that in place (worked but was a little large and would of been a pain to service it) also when re assembling I found the tank gasket leaked slightly so knew I’d have too pull it apart again to change some bits. 😢
  6. First thing to do was throw out the 5 year old fuel from the tank, luckily was pretty much full and no rust in the tank to be seen so I’m winning 👌🏻
  7. So this was the first time I got her home, she had no battery and hadn’t moved in years, first things first a good service was in order over the next week had sorted a few bits that were needed. Heads up she’s not as bad as first thought 👌🏻😁

Vfr 800 vtec 2003 ground up fighter build

This bike was donated to me as a first bike, it’s french registered has been sat for 5 years and hasn’t seen the light of day in that time, I’ll be uploading pics and progress of its transformation into a fighter and the trials and tribulations that goes along with it thanks for taking a look if you find yourself here, cheers 👍👍👌🏻
