  1. Thanks for all of the reply's. I went the center stand route. I'm not concerned with the added weight. The bike is a big porker anyway and I'm looking to shed tenth of a second heading to work. As a few have said, it's now always with me. I bought an Upstands brand from Germany. It took about 2 minutes to install and fits like a champ.
  2. Hey guys. I want to buy a center stand and wanted your thoughts on going for the OEM center stand or a shop stand like the Pitbull one. They are about the same price. Thanks!
  3. It's finally going to warm up in NC. Just ordered a new set of Michelin Pilot Roads 2's. What are your thoughts on Dyna Beads? I have no experience with these but I hear they are the way to go. Opinions?
  4. Whoa!! That's not good at all!!
  5. Those Michelin's are pretty weird looking. Keep the comments coming!
  6. This should get everyone going - It's almost time for new skins for the 1200. What is everyone running and would you buy the same thing again? I ride the normal mix, some commuting, plus spirited back roads - not a lot of highway. Thanks!!
  7. That looks and sounds backwards to mine. My Corbin fits snug up against the tank and it will latch under its own weight.
  8. I know it sounds obvious - is the kill switch off?
  9. I recently went with the LSL kit. High quality machined parts, great finish and I love the end result. You will have to buy some shorty levers as the stock ones will hit the mirrors. It takes a lot of fussing around to get the sweet spot where the controls don't hit the fairings. And you will need to add some packers to the steering stops, if not when you turn hard left it hits the kill switch and shuts the bike off. But saying all this, totally worth it at the end. Higher bars, closer to you equal a much more comfortable riding position, IMOO.
  10. Guys - thanks for all the feedback. I went for the SLS bars and I couldn't be happier. They move the grip position just enough to get me more neutral with a little less weight on my hands. They were pretty tricky to get set up so they clear the mirrors and fairings. I went to a CNC, adjustable, shorty brake and clutch lever to get away from the mirrors. I would suggest these to everyone. To me, they feel much better and I feel like I have better control. At 5' 11" with a 32" inseam I don't think I need to move the pegs, but I can see where you could want a bit more room if you were taller.
  11. Thanks for the bottle info.
  12. Oh - While in here - What is the verdict on removing the plastic bottles inside the airbox?
  13. Over the weekend I had some time to start taking things apart and getting ready to install my new LSL kit. I removed the RH tank fairing - What a PITA! Could they have any more variety of fasteners holding the bodywork on? I got to the point where I could pivot the tank up and I figured while there, I would take the air filter out to check on its condition. Glad I did. It looks like the previous owner had some pet mice living in there. The picture doesn't really show it, but about a 3" square section of the filter was all chewed up and there was a bunch of bedding lurking around. The new K&N should be here tomorrow.
  14. Hello everyone! I've been looking and listening to you guys for a few months and finally had to join in on the fun! At the end of the NC fall I bought a lightly used 2010 1200F. So far its been a huge hit. But like everyone here, I have some questions for the knowledge base. I've attached a few pics of the bike after I brought the bike home and spent about 10 hours cleaning it up. I've spent about two weeks of lunch's scrolling through the entire forum to answer as many questions as I can, but it has also lead to some more. So here are a few to get started. Thanks in advance to those that take the time to answer. -LSL Superbike bar conversion - I've got stock now and want to change. I'm 99% sure I want to go the LSL route over the Heli-Bar route. Those that have gone LSL - any regrets?? -RHS under seat fairing - Mine is split and I've read that it was very common to the 2010's. I've contacted the two dealers by me and both have no interest in helping me, other than to order new. Those that have gotten a fresh one through Honda - any suggestions on friendly dealers? That's it for now. Thanks again!
