Thanks for the info. Still hoping the header project will bear fruit tho!

I am keeping close tabs on the custom header build that is ongoing as I speak. But if that doesn't work I am assuming that there are still other options available, including from the factory. Mine are rusted and I know at some point they will have to be replaced regardless of whether they're Factory or not. has anyone ordered a header straight from Honda as a factory replacement?

I went to their website and it may be the most confusing I've yet tried to navigate. Do they offer a unit for the 1998 VFR?

Also wanted to share the glorious sound of those gear driven cams for those who don't have this Gen VFR.

I am also definitely still interested in buying a set of headers. Count Me In.

I bought a PC II (truly a relic) right after I bought my '98 VFR and downloaded a pretty good map (have a Titanium Vance & Hines pipe and a K & N air filter) and it ran much better but I found a map close to my bike's parts and downloaded it and the bike wouldn't even start. I took the PC off and intended to go back and download the "old" map that worked but just didn't do it and lost now I've lost the connector that hooks the PC to the computer for downloading. I have 2 questions: Is it worth keeping this old PC and try to find a proper map or Should I buy a newer version of the PC? I'd appreciate any help.

thanks. I thought I rememberd his was a Two Brothers system. At least I wasn't dreaming... Was it just wishful thinking that he had realized impressive HP gains with that system? From what I've read in this forum the stock diameter headers won't improve HP.

I'm new to this forum and have finally decided to do a bit of work on the old VFR. Shocks, headers, etc and am wondering if anyone knows a good mechanic in the Nashville area who could help with/perform the work?

My memory's not what it once was but when I bought my VFR in '98 I think I remember having the option of buying a full system or just a slip-on. I met a fellow down at Road Atlanta one year who had the same year VFR and we talked quite a long time about his full system and how much HP gain he had gained. Does anyone know anything about these "full" systems? Or is that another dream I had??

Clutch
in Maintenance Questions

My 1998 VFR has around 32000 miles on it. How long can I expect the clutch to last? It seems to be doing fine but I know everything wears out eventually.
