  1. This looks pretty similar to the Power Commander Euro spec'd map I run in my 06 VFR here in the states. Any idea what air fuel ratio was being targeted in the areas of cruise, light load?
  2. Are the 6th gen short stacks shorter than the 5th gen stacks? What about the inside diameter? What was the end result once installed on the bike?
  3. Does anyone know the dimensions of the velocity stacks for the 5th, 6th, and 8th generation VFR's and whether or not they will interchange? After looking at the parts catalog, the 5th gen stacks, while no longer available from Honda, are all four the same. On the 6th gen there are two longer stacks for the rear two cylinders and two shorter stacks for the front two. On the 8th gen all four stacks are the same part number and look similar to the short stacks of the 5th gen of 6th gen. The air cleaner boxes all look very similar in design and the 6th and 8th gen air filters show to interchange. I've got a Piper Cross air filter waiting to be installed and I was wanting to do something with the velocity stacks to make the most of the freer flowing air filter if there is any proven velocity stack upgrades for the 6th gen.
  4. Never mind. Its a totally different setup than the ATV engines.
  5. I had a thought. In the ATV world installing a crankshaft degree key is pretty common practice to rotate the flywheel in relation to the crankshaft which effectively advances the timing. There are keys available ranging from 2 to 10 degrees advanced. I have a Kawasaki KFX 700 v twin and its said that a 10 degree key and premium fuel is ideal for a stock internal engine. That being said I did a google search and nothing came up relating to installing a degree key in a VFR. It seems like it would work but I thought I would ask and see. We all know the VFR has some very lazy ignition timing and I'm thinking a 6 degree key and a tankful of premium would be a good starting point. Thoughts?
  6. I have the same system on mine and like it pretty well. The pipes do discolor with time but so far the mufflers haven't. I do wish they would come up with a cleaner mounting system for the mufflers rather than the goofy band clamp and rubber isolators but its functional.
  7. Bump. Summer is getting closer. Would be sweet to have a little more power and overall smoothness.
  8. I'll commit. The PCV makes the bike tolerable to ride at most any speed but I know there is more power and overall ridability left in it.
  9. Its a 1340 mile ride for me or I would be the Guiney pig in a heart beat.
  10. I have the same system on mine. I really like it I just wish there was a better mounting system for the cans. Would be nice if there was a tab welded to the can for a concealed mounting vs the band clamp setup but its still a nice system none the less. I don't run baffles in mine either. I have a couple thousand miles on mine and the pipe between the cat and cans has yellowed some but that's it.
