    One Run...

From the album: 1/4 Mile Video

1/4 Mile run MP5. Need to get on the gas a little quicker. ECM limits in 1st and 2nd gear make staging and getting on the way a little more tricky.

    Midnight Mayhem, Las Vegas MotorSpeedway

Ran a couple runs just to see what the new VFR could do. 2K feet elevation, quickest time, 11.03, @132.20. Trap speed gives me hope to get into the 10s. 1st and 2nd gear ECM limits are retarded, 1st gear is way to short, rev limiter hit pretty quick, but not to drastic...57 MPH, but keep her above 5k at the launch and she moves right along. Great safe, cheap fun. I will let the weather cool down and take another trip out to the track.

    Nick Lenatsch

From the album: Midnight Mayhem, Las Vegas MotorSpeedway

Nick is a Freelance Writer for Cycle World Magazine and lives in Henderson, NV. The ZX14 is a magazine long term test bike. Right of the showroom floor running late 9's. Really nice guy, great motorcyclist, even let me ride it down the cool down ramp. I would get is sooooo much trouble on that bike. Thats why I got the VFR, its fast and mature.

    Staging

From the album: Midnight Mayhem, Las Vegas MotorSpeedway

Ran 11.03 @130.2 MPH....trap speed tells me I can get into the 10's with a little more practice...elevation is about 1800', and it was about 97 degrees. A liitle cooler and I'm in the 10's. Was just curious what the new VFR would do. Had a great time.
  16. Red Rock and Valley of Fire are both very similiar, but about 80 miles apart. VOF is about 65 miles east of Vegas on I-15, and Red Rock is about 20 miles west of Vegas on Highway 160. Park Entrance fee for both places. Red Rock is a Scenic Route with speed limits at 35. Valley of Fire is also a Scenic Area, but it opens up to the North Shore road back to Vegas. Its newly re-paved, about 60 miles of fast sweepers, and real nice on the scenery. The VFR loves the moderate paced sweepers. On this trip i got stopped in Overton by a Policeman that asked what kind a bike it was, we talked for a bit, he complemented the bike and I was off.

    Valley of Fire

Quick ride to the Valley of Fire, just outside Las Vegas. Then return on the North Shore RD, thru Lake Mead National Rec Area.
