  1. Thank you both for your insight and feedback. Going to go over a few things in the a.m. and go for a spin . Will probably change final drive oil before to make sure all looks well. Need to go over rear brake . When I got back from the dealer there was final drive oil on the rear of the swing arm and all over the wheel . Thought I cleaned it up pretty good. Will check pads and spray with brake cleaner.
  2. Just an update, rode about 200 mi last weekend to and from my " go to " riding location, south east Ohio. On the way there are 60-70 mph four lane roads . Still noticed the high speed vibration coming from the seat . Fairly relaxed pace till I get to my first destination, rt 550 . After that didn't really notice the seat vibrations, but this is where I start picking up pace pretty good. Mine has the factory 1st-2nd gear power limitation , but in 3rd gear and above when you normally get that intense rush of speed at 5000 rpm , the thrust of speed is just not there. The motor seems to be running fine but it's almost like something is holding back the drive of the motor , maybe something binding or not turning freely. On the ride back home on 70+ mph freeway the high speed vibration from the seat was gone , but felt more of a rumble from the rear end , almost like a out of balance rear wheel . Got home , no final drive leaks so that's good , checked wheel weights , all are in place . Put up on center stand and wheel seems to be true & straight and turning freely with no binding. I've had this bike for five years and I'm so used to everything being normally very smooth. Engine , transmission , driveshaft , everything works together so smooth and seamlessly with this bike and freeway riding is very comfortable, great high speed touring bike . Something is definitely not the same as it was before the driveshaft replacement . Maybe replacement driveshaft has a larger rotating mass that isn't balanced properly , a installation pin or spline, something not lined up or not installed properly. Am going to check a couple other things this week on rear , after that will have to contact dealer . May send a email to Honda USA first .
  3. So the wife drove me over to pick up the VFR this morning after the drive shaft replace. It's about a 30-35 mi ride home from dealer , mostly 70-75 mph freeways and very little low speed residential. As far as I could tell it still has the low speed driveline chatter in "D" mode . Wasn't necessarily expecting a change there . But did notice a slight high speed vibration from the seat that I didn't have before. Didn't really feel it much in the pegs or bars , just the seat . Planning on going for a extensive ride tomorrow so I will further evaluate. Oh , when I got home the final drive fluid got drained ( looked like water coming out ) and replaced with my normal Castrol MTX synthetic SAE 80 w , so that may help.
  4. Mine is getting dropped off this Thursday late, they will do the work Friday and I'll pick up that evening. Dealer said they have done a few replacements and would be about a two hour job. This bike had very low sales volume in this region ( central Ohio). I've owned this bike since 2011 and have never seen another one on the road , just a few sitting in dealerships. That's just one of the things I love about this bike, extremely rare. Many people have never seen a 1200f othe than pictures in a magazine. Ride the NT mostly but every time I ride the VFR I'm reminded of just how stellar this bike is . For those of you familiar with Ohio , did about a 220 mi ride yesterday to southeast Ohio . Rt 550 - Rt 555 , what a total blast ! And the 65 mi ride back home on the freeway in serene comfort.
