Shapes is a hard one, as manufacturers and users don't always agree. Try them on. Any brand name will be adequate. What's important to you? For me, fit, venting, lack of fogging. Cheaper shields isn't bad either, as I don't adhere to the made up 5 year rule. 

I was Shoei for decades, but with the huge price increases, I moved to HJC a few years ago. HJC was at the time <1/2 the price. Quality is good/adequate. They are much lighter than my Shoeis were. Venting is good. The only negative I've seen is with the shield, which is not as crystal clear and which does not like to stay open a tiny amount for air flow.

I liked my HJC enough to buy another for track duty and a third for dual sport use.

Some boring video from the ride. I was way off of my A game! Temps were cool, down to 47 and wet for a bit! Had two buddies with me, so looking in the mirrors quite a bit and slowing so I could see both of them back there. Really fun easy day getting just over 200 miles in. 

I bet that's a...relief. 🙂

Nice! I still have some FJ ABS parts for sale. Seems like there are far fewer out there these days.

I don't precisely understand your note. Pricing is determined by market, not a book or online pricing site. None of those have been even close in a decade or two. 

Indistinguishable from new pants and jacket set. Best venting in the market; drilled not punched holes, so they don't close back up, ever. These babies flow air!

Pants fit a 6/8 or medium. Top fits a bust size 36 with some room, so 38 would also be fine. They zip together in the back.


Pants are size 12 with two zippered generous front pockets and one generous snap closure rear pocket. Heavy duty belt loop waist. Soft armor in hips and knees. (No Velcro or knee pucks.)

I can't confirm, but they look similar to SportRider model, retail $639 or Traveler model, retail $639.

Seems hot headed to me. Could be many things. Have you looked at anything yet? Low coolant and air in system are high on the list. Thermostat... possessed...

Non-mountain ride was excellent. Just under 200 miles and raced a hawk. VFR00 actually a joy to ride...and loving the sound of this Delkevic. 

Looking forward to the rally. Trying to decide whether to being both VFRs or one and the 400.

I am the muttonhead in this (what should be) finale in the VFR saga. 

Looking at shock length and not bike ride height caused me many hours of headaches. Even I can't believe it. The next time that each shock is out I will measure to compare. For now, they both stay bolted in and as they are. 

Yellow VFR00 hot sag numbers came in perfect after some adjusting. Front is 24/34 and rear is 10/30. This is after a few changes to get rear ride height very close to VFR98, which I love. The yellow bike front forks are a touch (1.5mm) higher in the triples (front of bike is lower) and the rear is a touch higher (w/in 1.5mm) measured up from the axle...but close enough for a lackey. 

Simply everything feels better with the geometry changed. Braking. Seating. Pressure on arms. Mid corner direction changes. Everything. Patience paid off. I was ready to light it on fire...like I am with the ABS FJ1200 wheels/brakes that cost the earth. 

I rode both VFRs back to back today to verify/set hot sag. While they feel different because the components are different, they are both pretty excellent. Absolutely adequate for any kind of riding. I planned to be zippy in the mountains tomorrow, but all 7 buddies bailed, so I'll likely just roll around the lakes here, which is a 4-5 hour ride. 

I wish the video had a skinny guy try to use it...

The Bandit 600 is a perfectly adequate bike to do just about anything. And it is comfy!

Tire mounting is a total rip off. Has been for a LONG time. 

You could try track day vendors. Prices may be the same or better and they usually mount for free if you buy from them.
