Yeah I agree, the silver wheel makes the whole bike look lighter than black. The bike is a very late 98 build, first registered here in 99. No idea whether it came from the factory like that or has been painted sometime; there's a bit of black showing through on the rim edges where the paint has been damaged by tyre changing so who knows? Thanks for the comment. I bought myself a Gopro knock-off this week (hey, its nearly my birthday!) so I might have a go at a video of this road this weekend if the weather gods will allow it. -

Had to pull off the motorway for a few minutes to get some circulation back in my right fingers. But I had ridden hard non-stop for 240km at that stage.Can't blame the bike, I just have bad circulation. -

A great mid-winter's ride to the South Head of the Kaipara Harbour, warm enough but blowing like 40 b@stards, and then it rained hard. First time with the VFR on a dirt road, actually handled it pretty well. -
One dirty VFR, as received from PO. He was good enough to deliver it to me from 200km away. Gavin, you're all right. -

What's all this stuff? PAIR = Put All In Rubbish! I don't expect any performance changes but the VFR could definitely do with less hoses and wires. Replaced with TPO Parts blanking plates. Pulled out the airbox to get better access to the front bits. -

Pipe sounds great! Came with a decibel killer insert but didn't like that much, very metallic sounding at 5K revs. Without it just make a glorious sound! -

A brief stop during glorious afternoon autumn ride to Kaiaua and back. Great riding roads to the south of my hometown Auckland. -
This was the fried component that caused my RHS turn signals to stop working. -
This was my second new VF400F, a Japanese domestic model imported new to New Zealand (hence the lack of belly-pan and the graphics). I have fond memories of this one, with some sticky Metzeler tyres it was amazingly surefooted, and certainly loved to rev, yet at the same time had an all-day sensible riding position and very even power. -
