I know this is more than 4 yrs old, but did Guhl stop re-flashing?  His website says he does not do re-flashing for any vehicle with a VIN.    I found a number and will call tomorrow, but looks like he got sued or something.

If he has stopped, there's always Stef (Sabsteef) who can do the same thing as Guhl, but remotely over the internet so you don't have to remove the ECU and post it to him.

    Link in my sig below.

Fitted Goodrich speed bleeders and changed the brake fluid. Why hadn't I found these before. So much easier especially on the rear. Then did an illicit 50 miles ( we are still under restrictions in the UK) to check the brakes and explore the limit of adhesion.

Damn you! I've been holding out this week and it's been so difficult with the great weather.

Yup. Guilty as charged, M'lud.

You can't seriously enjoy riding in these temps? It's like someone is stood in front of you with a huge hairdryer, blowing hot air all over you. Which is fine whilst yr a bit sweaty, but as soon as it's all evaporated, yr just left toasting.

He did my VFR1200F (2012). Steef knows what he's doing, saves your original firmware just in case. I had my 1st/2nd gear restrictions removed, as well as max speed and revs. Low speed handling is much smoother.
You could achieve roughly the same with a Z-Bomb and a PC-V, but that's much more expensive and you loose 1st/2nd gear indicator.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

if you are looking for an ECU update 1200F or 1200X i can help. I can tune. ore remove the restriction of the ECU without opening the ECU.

    in the Netherlands area.

    regards,

    Sabsteef

Has anyone on the forum used this guy?

I've seen some customers on his Facebook page but as I don't trust FB at all, I'd rather read rec's from members on here.

Hi, new to this forum and I just wanted to add to this thread that I have viewed many times. I was a Honda dealership mechanic for 26+ years and always a v4 nut. I acquired an '01 vfr800 motor and chassis some years ago with the intent of swapping into a gen 6 frame or building a racebike. It sat on the back burner until last fall when I purchased a nice 04 with a blown motor in Seattle. and after reading various threads on the swap, I got started. There is NO modification needed to the engine or chassis, it bolts right in with no issues. I used the 01 wiring harness and ECM with the 04 fuel injection rack and a power Commander 3 PC. Wiring and relocating the ECM to under the seat were the biggest challenges, but not that difficult. The 04 gauges were pretty straight forward to wire to the 01 harness. Delkevic header for an 04 fits the 01 motor perfectly, and mates up to the 04 Two Brothers system that was on the bike. Mounts for the 01 coils were easily fabricated, space not an issue. Deleting the ABS and delinking the brakes created extra space, especially under the seat. Can post pics if anyone is interested. Thanks for the great forum!

This is, of course, useless without pictures! :goofy:

Seriously though, well done. How does the bike ride?

I get it. But quick and easy isn’t always the best way. I for one could not perform such a ‘mod’, I just would feel dirty knowing I had done such a thing.

Ok, your choice. But it improved the low-end fuelling on my 07 VFR making her much smoother, easier and more enjoyable to ride.

You lost me at shoving a marble into the hose.

The quick/easy way is to block off the system using a suitably sized marble. The better but slightly more difficult method is to remove the PAIR system entirely.

Rob how difficult do you find it to install all new lines and get the system filled and bled completely of all air? Do you use a motorized vacuum?

I replaced them on my 6th Gen and I'm no spanner monkey so if I can do it, anyone can. As has been said, take your time and it's logical and doable. I use the 6th Gen bleeding guide from this site to help me.
