Only time I've seen a 5th gen can mounted on a 4th gen.
-
What's the purpose / function of the attachment on the rear hub?
-
Great looking bikes!
-
Hmmm . . . that sure looks familiar!!
-
Look down if you dare!

Very tidy, indeed. Looks much better with the white wheels than gray as stock.

I wish we could like photos like we used to be able to - if we could this would receive one from me. Mr. Grum, you certainly know your way around a camera! Beautiful shot.

Hello - What bag is that on the tail?
Thxz!
Great composition on the photo. I love that someone propped up the front axle for the missing wheel. Very cool.
The bag looks as though it says "SW-Motech" on it. Maybe this one?

The Rowena Overlook is the best view in the Columbia River Gorge. There's no mistaking whose 5th gen that is. Great shot!

Very nice 3rd gen. Maybe my favorite of all the VFR's.
Around 1980, before the battleships were returned to service, the Missouri (BB-63) was moored next to the New Jersey (foreground of this photo). What an imposing sight to come down the road around Sinclair Inlet to see 2 monstrous battleships moored next to each other and then be able to pull right up in front of them. You have to see them to understand the scale. It's hard to believe something that big can actually move.

What a loss to have that bike stolen. I know how I would have felt if my then new 5th gen had been taken. It was just a magic purchase that was love at first sight. I wish I could go down and buy another new one. I'm lucky to still have it today. Spectacular shot - well deserved to be on the front page.

Fine looking 5th gen.

Utah 24 through Capital Reef NP, east of Torrey, is one of my favourite roads. Last went through there in '12, dodging heavy showers and the resulting flash flood (thankfully minor) at one point on the road.
I made the same trip through in 2013 on - on my '08 6th gen . . . At first thought it was my photo - looked for a moment and though "wait, no - that's not mine!" LOL Great place to ride. Everyone should get there at least once.

Beautiful bike.

Nice, looks vaguely familiar
From Google maps. The "directions" function was only used to mark the location.

Klickitat loop off SR-14 - Mt Adams in the background.

Since the OP hasn't signed in since 2012, it doesn't seem likely we'll find out just exactly where this was taken. :(

Everyone should see the Milky Way on a night like that. Truly humbling to see how small we are in the universe. Love that photo. If you might indulge a few other questions - for the 30 second exposure, do you carry a tripod on the bike and if not, how do steady the camera? Also, with an f2.8, how do you get depth of field to keep the subject and the stars both in focus?
Please keep these coming! Cheers

Looks like the RWB Batallion!

Great photo!

The intensity of the blue color of Crater Lake can only be experienced in person - incredible. Nice photo!

Ditto. WOW!!!

Sometimes old flames can be re-kindled . . . maybe keep an eye out for another one. I really like the subtle 'VFRD' logo in place of the factory decals - something probably only a member here would pick up on.

A great day at the summit! It was hazy when I was there, so not nearly as good a view. By the way, what's the zip code up there? :)

Sweet 5g~! Very tastefully done. Funky spot - my kind of place for a brief stopover. I'd like to find out more about "gossip girl"!
