  1. Ah.... Come on, I'm not the flaming type! Hey, you got to do what works for you. I think we're in different situations. Your bike is an '04 so you don't have the map by gear like the '06 and later have. In theory, one map should work for you. If I could even talk someone around here to map each gear, I'm sure it would cost me much a lot than $350. Besides, I paid $195 for the Autotune. It sounds like you have a good tuner available. Every 'map' I've seen done by a local tuners around here, is a Dynojet map with some changes in the 100% throttle column. I've had really good luck with my Autotune. That said, it's not perfect and it does require a lot of interaction to get good results. I'm also thinking there will be some firmware changes coming to deal with some of the short comings. (I would really like to see a temp sampling window that could be setup). I like to tinker. Since there is no airflow meter, any tinkering that has an effect on airflow, requires a map change. I don't want to visit the 'tuner' whenever I tinker. As the bike ages, things will change. There's a spring in the fuel pressure regulator, springs over time 'relax'. Even with the best gas, over time the injectors will flow a little less. In theroy, the Autotune should correct for those little changes. Wasn't there a member a while back that had a engine failure that was linked to a low flowing injector? Just some thoughts.

  5. Hey, Thanks sa1713 for taking up the slack so I can be on vacation....... Shhh....., have to go before the wife gets out of the shower and catches me POV (posting on vacation)............
  6. Well, it appears you have the right Speedohealer. Unfortunately I'm on vacation and not near the bike and/or the manual for the Speedohealer. I don't have all the wiring memorized, have to get back to you when I return in a couple weeks. Since you have the manual and bike available, is there someone you could bounce the info in this post off of?
  7. The speed cal is used to calculate what gear you are in. It takes the output shaft speed and compares it to engine RPM. What happens after the output shaft (either sprocket or tire height) has no bearing, you're fine.
  8. Curious, what was the speed shops reason for advising against it?
  9. Yes, I'm using it. I believe its the best feature of the PCV. There is no gear position sensor input on the PCV, it compares a feed from the vehicle speed sensor to the engine RPM to find what gear you are in. Works great. You can set up a fuel efficient 5th-6th gear cruise while still having a smooth as butter 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I can also sneak through the neighborhood in 3rd gear @ 3200-3400 rpm without all the drama, no surge, no snatch. So does this mean you can use the PCV with the GIProDS gear position indicator? I already have the GIProDS and would hate to give that up to get the PCV. THE GIProDS plugs into that red plug on the right side of the bike just under the plastic under the throttle. Does the PCV plug in there too? Thanks... Not a problem. I'm running a Speedhealer now. There actually are no plugs on the PCV, you need to splice into the VSS wire to get the speed signal.
