Mine goes in the plastic envelope with the rest of the stuff.

I've been lucky. All five have come with complete kits. At least is gives me a little warm and fuzzy feeling. I do keep my chain lubed and adjusted when I'm on the road.
Honda quality is such that I rarely need to use it. 🙂

I need to get one exactly the same, but with a huge tear drop running through it. Green in colour as in envy.

It’s not a VFR gathering unless someone has electrical issues. We spent the last couple of hours riding twenty minutes and swapping batteries to get mine to the hotel this spring. Turned out to be burned wires between the stator and r/r. Back on the road in about an hour thanks to Todd.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkTodd (trem) was amazing that week. I learned a lot just watching. He saved a lot of bacon, including his own.

It pains me greatly to write this. I will not make the event this time around. Although it is not usually the case in the summer, I've suffered from chronic depression since adolescence. This past month or more I've had a relapse. I have no energy.
I'm telling my self this is only for now. That it will pass. That I will travel by VFR again. Just not now.
I'll miss seeing all you folks greatly. I hope you have a great and accident free gathering.
Sadly, for now
Terry (Max not so Swell right now)
P.S. I've cancelled my reservation at The Rocket Motel. I hope this gives another participants to join the group lodging.

You should all feel honored. In anticipation of this event, I washed my motorcycle. Cost me $5.40 at the car wash.
Were any of you aware that the tire side of the swing arm is silver in color?I'll be sure to wear my sunglasses. And besides, the future month looks bright.

Accuweather's long range forecast for the week is for sunny and mid '80s (high 20's for those of us that use deg C), but wow it's been cool and rainy in the Dakotas for several weeks - with liberal doses of strong thundestorms tossed in. Fingers crossed that the WX forecasters have it right!

From your mouth (and keyboard) to Mother Nature's ears. I'll cross my toes.

My wish would be for temps are tolerable. But if wishes were Hondas everyone would ride a VFR. Or something like that.

Glad to hear this. The gathering would not have been the same w/o you. Hope I can keep up.

Regarding those locating tabs, I had initial concerns that removing the 6 o'clock-position tab would allow the light to vibrate, shake, wobble. However there is a powerful spring to hold them in place and I've never seen and indication of this. So, No. Big. Deal.
But for the best lighting and conspicuity, for fifth gens, install LED (H4 replacement) bulbs. Fabulous, with no oncoming-vehicle annoyance.

Welcome to the asylum garcenw from the land of Low Weather Expectations. Seems to me I bought a few H4 bulbs before I put in LEDs and never had any issues. Never even knew to consider it. I think the R/Rs are sheading so much extra power, the H-4 bulbs may lighten the load on the R/R. But that is a guess on my part. Someone may come along and straighten me out.

A route suggestion for the East Siders across the Northern Plains:
Starting from Sioux City IA going west take US 20 to Willis NE, then follow state highway 12 to Valentine NE. That is all I know of this route, Valentine being my destination before heading south. It is called the Outlaw Trail Scenic Byway.
MotorMike and I took this route on the way to the last SumSum. Quite a scenic two-lane.
And for the high-speed-road-of-your-life (at least in the middle USA) find highway 97 south from Valentine to at least Mullen (~ 75 mi). This road goes through the Sand Hills area of NW Nebraska. Dune-tops are ~ 1 mi apart, with fabulously open sight lines ( nothing along that stretch grows more that 2 ft tall). While I'd never contemplate doing so, it could easly be a 90mph - 120mph ride. There are virtually no intersecting roads and no traffic. I've ridden that road many times without seeing more than a few other vehicles. Only well-fenced grazing cows. The normally staid MotorMike, after leading the pair of us all the way, exclaimed to me at the end of the route "THAT WAS THE BEST RIDE EVER!" or something along those lines.
If not this trip, this is a Bucket List worthy road. And it continues south from Mullen. More of the same.

Well, as luck would have it, my original statement holds true. I wasn't sure if I'd be going in spite of already booking the hotel room, and, I won't be attending after all.
That will free up one room at the hotel if someone is still interested. I'll contact the hotel today and let them know.
I hope everyone has a great ride and time.
Mike
You are going to be missed SFOM. I was looking forward to hanging with you again. I'll have to catch you later in CA. It is my favorite riding destination.

My machine came with taped exhaust pipe and a removed heat shield also. I experience no hot butt through my leather riding pants.

Every used bike I've bought has had that rubber band broken, or is soon to brake; old rubber is probably the reason. Pretty much requires removing the rear cowl to find it and pull it out. And that can result in having to remove the luggage racks to to so. Such a PITA.
