72k miles on your 08 hey, very nice. I'm curious to know what sort of issues you have had in that time, anything electrical?
-
Hey Ian very nice! I love the colour as it's different and turns heads, one person said it looks like it's been cut from the same piece of aluminium - Just gorgeous.
If you ever want a play in the hill give me a shout, we could always meet up around Derbyshire :)
-
It's funny you say that Skids as I can already feel a difference from 10k to 13k miles, the bike seems much smoother and less snatchy? How is this possible? I'm still going to try a PC 3 or 5 as I've always been curious to see the effects (if any) - If I end up not noticing much difference I'll just sell the unit.
I live near Lincoln actually, it's usually only about an hours run from where I live to Derbyshire, although to get there I usually have to slab it a bit up the A1 or go through the centre of Sheffield to get to Glossop. I regularly ride around Gainsborough area though as I have some friends up that way - I wouldn't want to live there though, it's a bit rough! :)
Cheers Saoirse32 (tricky name to spell!) - It's worth a go mate, nice green 5th gen by the way - I had one just like it and put about 50k miles on it, loved it :)

Cheers Skids!
I have done the pair valve/flapper mod and put in some 02 eliminators but I'm still getting a snatchy throttle at low revs - I've been told by many that a PC 3 or 5 will cure this issue along with making the bike even smoother.
Nice ride by the way, the VFR12 might be my next bike :)
Cheers!

Hi all,
I think I'm in love, here is my 08 VFR that I bought with only 10k miles for under 4k, with dealer services 2 months ago (since then I've covered over 2000 miles)
I thought I'd post up some pics of my new ride showing some of the wonderful English countryside. I've had MANY Viffers over the years, this is my newest yet and it feels like it's dripping in quality and refinement, plus that VTEC engagement is so much nicer on the later models (although my next upgrade is a PC 5).
To whoever designed the 6th gen VFR at Honda, I want to buy you a pint! :D
Cheers!

Welcome back (although I wasn't here myself back then, but I have owned V4's for over 30 years). I sound old but I am getting on a bit.
I'm not quite sure why, maybe my crappy phone haha - V4's rule

Thanks Mohawk it's good to be back

Greetings from the UK!
I'm not sure if many of you here will still remember me, I was pleasantly surprised that my account is still active after a 4 year absence! I'm a long time VFR fanatic owning several 6th and 5th gens throughout the years (I sound old but I'm only 32 but I ride A LOT). I bought an 07 Blackbird about 4 years ago and loved it (apart from the fact it was an inline 4 and not a beautifully charismatic, off beat growling V4)!
Anyway I was lucky enough to be accepted on a masters to study Music Therapy which meant parting ways with my beloved Blackbird; Fast forward 10 months without a bike (which has been the longest I've been off 2 wheels since I was 17) and the Spring weather here in the UK coupled with finishing my first year got to me. After a little hunting I stumbled across this little beauty..
Ladies and gents, meet my new bike - In stunning red, my 99 VFR, 26k miles, high rise Remus can, heated grips, touring screen, bar extenders and rack (with 3 Givi boxes) all for just £1600. That, as you well know is a hell of a lot of sports touring goodness for that price.
So far I love it every bit as much as my Blackbird which cost me triple this gorgeous machine!
Anyway that's me and my new bike, ride safe!
Cheers,
Steve

haha yes sorry to resurrect it from the ashes :)
Good luck with the move and pleased my old photo gave you some inspiration!! Nothing like a good frosty motorcycle pic :D

Well done for missing the car and glad you lived to tell the tale!
I know ''bikes can be replaced'' but I'm sure it's very painful mentally to have your pride and joy looking to sorrowful. I wish you and your bike a full recovery!!

My apologies for taking 4 years to reply
I've just been looking back at some of my old posts on here, damn I forgot how great this place is. I ride a Blackbird now (for 3 years) but I still miss that V4 sound and feel.
I also drive a 'cage' now too, so no more cold winter commutes for me. I've probably either grown up a bit or applied a bit of risk: reward adjustment in my life!

I've had far too many VFR800, I wanted something similar with more power, tried the VFR1200 on two seperate occasions, then bought a Blackbird, nuff said

ahhh man wish I could have been there, but hey I'm across the pond. Loving the pics and videos guys keep em coming

The bike is not junk I could go put it in a show and come out with a trophy guaranteed, ive heard alot about changing the suspension
Mailman is pulling your chain bigtime.
Dude you are gonna have to be a bit quicker than that round here!! Congrats on the bike

Very nice both of them are gorgeous, I'm guessing you like grey/silver quite a lot

very VERY nice job! She is a beauty

Warm welcome from another UK VFRD member, I have a Bird now after a host of different Viffers but thinking the VFR12 may be my next bike, although I'm loving the bird too much to be honest!
I know what you mean about the weather, strong hail showers over East Lincolnshire over the past few days makes for some interesting riding conditions!

Enjoyed the video thanks for posting

I have never met him but I can clearly see by all the posts what a great guy he was, very sad, rip x

Can't go far wrong with the VFR on a two-up adventure, although speaking from experience I often found that with luggage and extra passenger (both 11 stone in old money) the VFR seriously lacked torque and you have to stir the gearbox a lot

Great photos and sharp looking 5th gen

Superb video, a nice blend of music and VFR - Great work!

Cheers for the info Skids :) I wondered whether Honda might have updated some of the electrics on the later models (particularly the wiring harness and blue connector issues) - But that's great to know, not bad at all really. How does the 800 compare to the VFR12? Which one do you feel the urge to ride the most or are they used for different roles? Sorry for all the questions ;)
