no, the VFR caliper is way different from 929... its like its made for a different bike or something...
Just like the cbr929 fork is ....
Ok thanks anyway, you must understand that this material is totally new for me and of course I have several questions about it.
Sorry, that did sound sarcastic, didn't mean to flame you.

ahh, Bren, now I see what your pm was all about.
I have a SP1 lower, SP1 steering stem, and a 954 upper triple, and it all lines up perfectly.
I've had it all to bits several times to check bearings, do fork oil, change fork valves... so I can only think that something you have is bent :fing02:
-
I think I should probably re-pack my custom pipe, its now 7 years and about 90,000km old...
-
Ditto, TM with Progrip, just trim the end off the grip.

looks awesome. Matching leathers too, very swish.
So...whats the best non-fling chain lube?

You'll want to use 5wt fluid with a viscosity of 15cSt with the Ohlins valves. I use Honda Pro Oils 5wt but there are several others that work as well. Let me know what you are planning to use and I can double check it for you.
Hey Jamie, I used Motul Factory Line 7.5wt last time. The bike shop nearby also has 5wt, but no mention of the cST rating? Any ideas?
[edit] just found this very useful chart on the Motul site:
-
As a data point:
I've been using 7.5wt fork oil in my sp2 forks, 120mm air gap, springs are 1kg.
Just about to fit my Ohlins valves to them...

Glad you're ok mate, bike looks very second hand
-
Looks very good, money well spent on the suspension, and the pipes look great too.
Hoe much were your racetech valves? I'm about to drop some moola on some Ohlins ones for my SP2 front on the Frankenviffer.

I've got one that I'm less than impressed with, its very hard to set up properly which I am still yet to do, because programming it is a pain, cant recall the name of it right now but can dig it up if you want to know...
The ones that do work which I am waiting on delivery of is by Acumen, called the DG8, search on fleabay for one. They have a plug and play harness for the Vtec. I've bought it from an OzVFR member, I dont need the extra harness for my '99 so that bit will be going on fleabay...

Sorry to hear about the rider in your group that went down.
I have an ICE entry in my phone, and on the group rides I organise i gather and the distribute a spreadsheet contain all riders mobile numbers and their partner's contact, for that "just in case" episode.
Some call me mother hen for doing this but the alternative is not a good one to contemplate.

I had a set of Galfer wave rotors on my Klingon before the SP2 front went on, along with a set of EBC HH Street pads.
I found them excellent, and did not chew up rotors or pads with either...
-
nice clean install :fing02:
-
Keep 1 set of Ohlins forks for the VFR, as I had 3 sets of them.
So you've got 2 sets spare? Well, would you sell a set to me? Seriously!
(btw, how is your wife now after being diagnosed with Cancer?)
-
yes that compression hose does look very short, about a 1/4 of the length of the one on mine...

Made in China from Australian Steel
She'll be right mate!

yup, I've got a a Swedish bouncy bit on my rear and its wonderful... anyone know when/if they need rebuilding??
-
I'm just waiting for you to give up so that I can have those Wolf Exhausts
-
Hang on a sec... thats the body work off the other bike isn't it? What happened to the custom black fairings?
-
Nice one AB. Gotta love the woolly sheep, err I mean seat.
Though that fender won't get ya brownie points up here.
I can't tell, but do ya want a set of blank-offs for the franken slots?
Yeah the rego holder sometimes gets bent in obscuring the first digits of the licence plate, dunno how that keeps happening
I've got some blank offs for the slots but dont use them, no room now with the new rack in place.
2002 was the last time Muz and i rode together, but you all knwo why that is!
The Keggerator holds 2x19litre kegs, only one in there now settling before getting gassed up this weekend.
The topbox and rack can be shifted forward slightly on the mounting plate, and i can still get the seat on and off without removing the box. Need to load it up and test its tootlespeed beofre the big trip to the SBK at Phillip Island.

Mate of mine Terry welded up a solo rack for me, uses the Ventura grab rails, keeps the topbox over the rear of the bike. Cost of rack is $0 coz he's a good mate.

The main use is if someone looks at the paint code under their seat, then can find out the name that honda calls it?
eg PB-215C = Candy tahitian blue
