welcome, and wow, what a project, looking forward to reading and seeing more....
-
I just had to find and mark the topic, because I am getting going on this thing again.
Have you already been thrown off the other streetfighter forum you joined recently due to inactivity?

I thought the LED is to show how lean or rich the mixture is?

I've had my shift star in for about 5 years, 50,000km - its one of the best mods I've done.
-
I believe it was advertised here in the classifieds, RoY snapped it up, and it arrived down here a couple of weeks ago....
-
there was, but now its in RoYs hot little hands :)

hay mate you are right, dunno what I was doing wrong before but its working well, quicker than google maps, will try some export to Garmin zumo...err, clicked save, then clicked export, it asked me to save...
-
hard for me to test as I cant choose an Australian map to enter some favourite routes, so cant compare it with mapsource, basecamp etc.

Muz,
Glad you are on the mend mate, and the pain is the body's way of telling the brain not to be so clumsy next time

Do you have a scottoiler and if so which model? Did you install it yourself?
I do have a scottoiler the vSystem. This is the one: http://www.scottoile...lypage.tpl.html
Theres an install guide on the page. Its very easy to install.
-
Only do # 3, the previous steaps are overkill.
Or just fit a scottoiler and dont worry about it anymore

does the rear master cyl get hot at all?
-
looks like a good little mod there, I still like the linier one attached to the gear lever though, but yes its very costly.
Full throttle upshifts are a lot of fun, sure do love them on my bimmer

I bet Pauls is finished before yours Muz :)

where you mounted the relay, is where I have my Stebel Magnum horns located, one on each side. No need to modify fairing, only needed to trim the horns slightly. 4 years and no probs, 130db of horniness :)

yeah i went blue led's in my 5th gen dash, after the LDC backlight kept blowing (well twice in 10 years!), left the FI and indicators as they were as they were not a problem to me.
Cost me about $10 from fleabay.

Kaldek,
You're gonna have to come along to one of the OzVFR rides now, so we can do some bench racing, kick the tyres, whilst having a beer or 3, I'm sure you've got some great stories now about your bike.
Cheers

Has anyone ever found an OEM bar off some old bike that does the trick?? Do the heli bars have the pin in the bottom to keep them from rotating on the top of the fork tube?
Helibars dont have the pin, genmar risers do, and I *think* blackbird bars might fit, but that might be for the Vtec, cant recall exactly sorry.
I've got helibars on my Frankenviffer, and it has had a lie down on its site, I like how they rotated on the fork tube rather then be stuck in 1 spot due to the locating pin, probably would have snapped otherwise, eaving me stranded.
-
do a google for Genmar Risers, a lot cheaper than helibars and might be what you are looking for.

hmm, since there a bit of a mouse plague in SE Australia right now (cant find a mouse trap anywhere), I think I better go and check mine!!

The 5th gen onwards all have an etching primer under the factory black wheels, thats why they are a bitch to strip.
I did mine in one weekend, but its messy and you need to wear lots of protection as stated above. The I had to do another front wheel when I changed front ends, the SP2 wheel was a breeze compared to the VFR, thinner paint and no etching...
But I'd never do it again, too much hassle !
