I can say without a doubt I hate the way that bike looks, considering it was once the classic 93 pearl white VFR its been snubbed into that thing?? The Dew can lends it some trashyness even more!

Wow! Thanks for the opinion, slammer. This "classic" (can a bike merely 12 years old and made as soul-less and lardy as only Honda can, really be called a classic?) '93 had been thrown down the road and was languishing in a Phoenix salvage yard looking very sorry for itself in true "boy racer" fashion when we first saw it.

The wife is less than 5 foot tall on a big hair day and has always wanted to ride a sportsbike. As we moved from the U.K. 4 years ago with only 2 bags of clothes, we have a drill and a small angle grinder and very little money. It was built for one specific purpose...to enable the wife to ride again over here after selling her 900 Eliminator in the U.K.

Given these circumstances, it suited perfectly as the subframe didn't need cutting, it was cheap and it was the last year where this model could vaguely be called a sportsbike before it put even more unnecessary weight on. If money and choice wasn't a limiting factor, I'd have gone for a Bandit as they look great naked, are easier to tune, more reliable and more accessible than this. So we both knew it wouldn't be pretty. But then that was part of the attraction....to take something that had once looked reasonable and hack it about to annoy both the 'purists' and the Harley crowd.

Guess what? It works and we both love it...and the wife's riding with me again which gives me more pleasure than anything!

I won't bother to tell you her opinion of folk who bolt more stuff than an S.U.V. onto a bike...her's is pure bike not some sort of "materialistic 2-wheeled ego mirror". I love that quote! lol
