Member Contributer The mailman 259 Posted March 13, 2014 Those vented front discs look like more vent than disc! I wonder what the most efficient ratio % of disc to vent is for continuous heavy breaking (track riding) vs. cooling ability? Now there's an all-night-beer conversation for you. Quote Link to comment
VFRBert 58 Posted March 13, 2014 The brakes on this model work fine, if someone like Ron Haslam is able to get third place in the transatlantic races, with a stock VFR, then the brakes must be good. (1986 transatlantic races) Quote Link to comment
Veefer800Canuck 937 Posted March 13, 2014 Didn't Haslam blow up his racebike, then went and bought a brand new VFR off the showroom floor, just to have something to race? Oh and the names, Reuben McMurter, John Ashmead, Steve Parrish, Kevin Schwantz, Fred Merkel, etc..... And Barry Sheene in the commentary box! Quote Link to comment
VFRBert 58 Posted March 13, 2014 Haslam crashed his racebike, ran to the local Honda dealer, bought the brand new VFR and used it in the race. After this race sales went sky high in the UK. Quote Link to comment
