ancon
(thanks to HispanicSlammer's fantastic writeup) and noticed the OEM front sprocket is much different than the new. What's up with the red material on the OEM? The new one is just a solid steel chunk of sprocket. Anyway, we installed the new, which went on flush and tight, torqued to spec and buttoned everything up. Went for a 20 mile test ride and everything seems fine--rides even smoother than before, it that's possible. Is the red sprocket from 2001? Just wanting to make sure we didn't install an incorrect front sprocket. Thanks for any info.
Member Contributer Havagan Posted July 8, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted July 8, 2013 OEM sprockets have material there to dampen vibration while aftermarkets are solid metal.
