Guest Mattieo
Hey gang. Just joined the site. Wow. I am in VFR heaven here. On my 3rd V4 bike. Best motor Honda ever built (and I have had inline fours too!). I may have just screwed up. Bought a slightly used Elka 3-way shock (remote reservoir) from a guy on Ebay. He had it on a 2006 but confirmed with Elka it will work on my 1998. Took it to my local guy (independent mechanic) and he has no idea where to put the remote reservoir. Called Elka but they are closed until Monday. Does anyone have any suggestions? The info on Elka's sight doesn't cover it.
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted May 4, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted May 4, 2013 the remote reservoir can go anywhere you like..... "Officially" Wilbers would like you to locate it on the right side. Since I have a (non-oem) hi-mount muffler, I didnot like the look of it there. So I put it to the left... soem people donot like the way the hose reverses on itself. I have felt no ill effects.... Some folks tuck it under the seat once dailed in.... So knock yourself out! Oh BTW, do post up in the welcome section........ WITH a picture of course!
