Guest CrashTest
I am looking at buying a 97 with 32k miles. It seems very solid, valves checked recently, all that good stuff. The only mechanical issue I saw was a lot of dirt and oil seepage around the shifter. Owner says fluid level has never gone down. Is this something to be worried about? How hard is it to replace that seal (if it's coming from the shifter, have to clean it and wait to know for sure)?
Member Contributer V-FORE Posted January 24, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted January 24, 2013 Not really a mechanical issue, just a spot where all the chain lube piles up... nothing to worry about in my opinion, but I may be biased I bought mine with 21 k on her and I have put over 70k with no issues. Buy it you will not have buyers remorse! Gary
Veefer800Canuck
99% certainty of Chain Spooge.
Guest
thanks. That makes me feel a lot better. My ZR7 is a lot tidier (8000miles) so I don't really have chain spooge pile-up anywhere.
